Jorgen Strand Larsen: Crystal Palace agree deal in principle for Wolves striker

Crystal Palace have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign striker Jorgen Strand Larsen in a deal worth around £50m. The 25-year-old Norway international has been linked with several clubs, including Juventus and AC Milan, but Wolves were initially open to selling him for a fee close to the £55m they rejected from Newcastle during the summer transfer window.

Larsen's arrival would surpass Crystal Palace's previous club record of £35m, which was broken by the signing of Wales striker Brennan Johnson earlier this month. The Norwegian forward has been in impressive form for Wolves this season, and his move to Selhurst Park is expected to strengthen the Eagles' attacking lineup.

However, Larsen's deal comes at a time when Crystal Palace are still trying to finalize their transfer business. Jorgen Strand Larsen joins Jean-Philippe Mateta as the two big signings in the last few weeks. The 28-year-old France international has informed the club of his desire to leave, raising uncertainty over his future at the club.

Despite this, Palace have made a significant move for Larsen and are expected to submit a formal bid soon. If the deal is completed, it would be another boost to manager Patrick Vieira's squad ahead of the Premier League season.

I don’t usually comment but... think Crystal Palace is taking some big risks by signing Jorgen Strand Larsen now. Wolves didn’t even want to sell him for £55m in the summer and yet they're letting him go for £50m? That's like selling a diamond for half its value... 💎🤔. And with Jean-Philippe Mateta wanting to leave, it's not like Palace have solved all their problems just yet. But at the same time, if Larsen can deliver on the pitch like he has been doing for Wolves, it could be a game-changer for the team... 🤞🏽

omg i'm dyin!!! Crystal palace just signed jorgen strand larsen for £50m 🤯🔥 he's been on fire at wolves and i can already imagine him scoring goals for palace! 👏❤️ patrick vieira is a genius, i mean what other manager would go all out for their strikers? 💪 also, i'm a bit worried about jean-philippe mateta tho... if he's leaving, does that mean palace are rebuilding or something? 🤔 still super hyped about larsen tho, let's get this goal machine at selhurst park! ⚽💥

I think Wolves were super smart in letting Crystal Palace come knocking for Jorgen Strand Larsen... I mean, yeah, they did turn down that £55m offer from Newcastle but I guess they knew they could find a better deal elsewhere 💸. Wolverhampton Wanderers have always been keen on developing their young players, so it's not surprising they'd want to cash in on someone like Larsen who's already making waves in the Premier League 🌊. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, seem to be going all-in on this transfer business – first Brennan Johnson, now Larsen... that's a pretty significant investment for them 💰🔥. I'm curious to see how it all plays out, especially with Jean-Philippe Mateta's situation still hanging in the balance 🤔. But hey, if Patrick Vieira can get his squad looking this strong ahead of the season, I think Palace fans are gonna be stoked 😄!

I think this signing is a massive coup for Crystal Palace 🤩. Jorgen Strand Larsen is an absolute gem, and his arrival will surely give them a major boost in terms of firepower up front. The fact that Wolves were willing to let him go for £50m is already a testament to how highly they regard him, so I think the Eagles have gotten a real bargain here.

But what really gets me excited is how this signing complements Palace's existing squad 💪. With Jean-Philippe Mateta also on board, it looks like the team has finally found that elusive balance between youth and experience. And let's not forget Patrick Vieira's tactical prowess – I think he'll get the best out of Larsen right away.

Of course, there is a bit of uncertainty hanging over the transfer window still 🤔. Mateta's situation isn't entirely clear-cut, and if that doesn't get sorted out soon, it could cause some issues in the team. But overall, I think this signing is a huge win for Palace, and I'm confident they'll be able to make a real push for European competition next season ⚽️.

Omg I'm so excited about this news!!! 🤩 Crystal Palace finally got their man! Jorgen Strand Larsen is going to be a game changer for them, especially with Jean-Philippe Mateta being a bit uncertain about his future... 😬 But with Larsen on board, they'll have an amazing attacking lineup now. £50m is worth it imo, especially considering how good he's been playing for Wolves this season! 💪 What do you guys think? Should Palace be spending that kinda money? 🤔

OMG I FEEL LIKE LARSEN IS GOING TO BE A GAME CHANGER FOR CRYSTAL PALACE!!! HE'S BEEN ON FIRE AT WOLVES AND IT WOULD BE AMAZING TO SEE HIM SCORING GOALS FOR THE EAGLES!!! 🐦💥 BUT SERIOUSLY, THIS DEAL COULD MAKE OR BREAK PALACE'S SEASON AND I'M HYPED TO SEE HOW VIEIRA WILL MANAGE HIM!!! 😎

I'm totally against Jorgen Strand Larsen joining Crystal Palace 🙅‍♂️💔 they're already overpaying for Jean-Philippe Mateta and that £50m price tag is just crazy, like, what's next? £100m for some random striker? 😂 it's just a waste of resources at this point.

🤔 I think Crystal Palace making such a big splash with the signing of Jorgen Strand Larsen is actually kinda worrying 🚨... I mean, they're already trying to finalize their transfer business and Larsen's arrival might be causing more uncertainty with Jean-Philippe Mateta wanting out 🤦‍♂️. And let's not forget that Palace are setting a new club record, which puts some pressure on the team to perform 💪... I hope Vieira has a solid plan in place to get the most out of Larsen and integrate him into the squad without causing too much disruption ⚠️. The £50m price tag is still a lot to swallow, but if it means bringing in a goal-scoring threat like Larsen, then I suppose it's worth the risk 💸... for now, at least! 😉

🙄 So Crystal Palace just broke their own record for most money spent on a player in like 2 weeks... that's a bold move. £50m is a ton of cash for a striker, especially when you consider they're already struggling to keep one guy at the club 🤦‍♂️. I mean, I guess Jorgen Strand Larsen is supposed to be some sort of goal-scoring machine or something? 🚀 Either way, I'm sure he'll fit right in with the rest of the team that's been, um, "exciting" so far this season 😴. And on the bright side, it'll probably give them a chance to finally beat their local rivals, AFC Wimbledon... just kidding 😂.

I'm loving the transfer news in the Prem 🤩! Crystal Palace finally splashing out big on Jorgen Strand Larsen. £50m is a serious investment and I think it'll pay off for them. He's had an impressive run with Wolves, so I can see why they'd want to bring him in. Now, I'm a bit curious about Jean-Philippe Mateta leaving... will Palace manage to hold on to their squad? And what's the story behind that deal with Newcastle? Did Crystal Palace really reject them from £55m or was it just a clever negotiating tactic 😏?

🤔 This £50m signing feels like a big risk considering they still need to finalize their transfer business... 🤑 They just signed Jean-Philippe Mateta and now Jorgen Strand Larsen is joining too? What about the other players they were linked with like Brennan Johnson? 💸 The deal would definitely give them a boost, but will it be enough to secure top 7 spot in the Premier League? 🏆

omg I'm so hyped about Jorgen Strand Larsen joining Crystal Palace 🤩💨 he's been on fire for Wolves this season and I think he'd be a great addition to their squad! £50m is still a lot, but I guess it's worth it if you consider how much talent they're getting in there 😂. I'm not sure what's going on with Jean-Philippe Mateta though, hope everything works out for the guy 🤞. Patrick Vieira must be losing his mind trying to get all these signings done before the season starts lol! 💪

£50m is such a big number, you know? It makes me think about how our perceptions of value can change depending on the context. Like, what's worth £50m to one person might not be as valuable to another. For Crystal Palace, it's like they're saying this striker is worth that much to their future success, which I guess is a pretty high bar to set 🤔.

But at the same time, have you thought about how players like Jorgen Strand Larsen are just trying to make a living? They've got families to feed and careers to build. Is it really about the money when they're making a decision that could affect their life for years to come? 🤷‍♂️

OMG I FEEL LIKE A BRAND NEW PERSON!!! 🤩 THIS IS SO EXCITING NEWS FOR FOOTY FANS LIKE ME!!! 🔥 CRYSTAL PALACE JUST SIGNING JORGEN STRAND LARSEN FOR £50M? THAT'S LIKE, WHOA! 😲 THEY'RE REALLY PUSHING THE BOUNDARY HERE AND I COULDN'T BE MORE STOKED!!! 🎉 PLUS, THIS GUY HAS BEEN DOING AMAZING THINGS FOR WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS, SO IT MAKES SENSE WHY CRYSTAL PALACE WOULD WANT HIM. BUT WAIT, WHAT ABOUT JEAN-PHILIPPE MATETA? HE'S ALSO LEAVING THE CLUB AND I HOPE THEY CAN FIND A GOOD REPLACEMENT QUICKLY! 🤞 ANYWAY, THIS IS GOING TO BE SO INTERESTING TO SEE HOW IT ALL PLAYS OUT!!! 💥

I'm loving Crystal Palace's aggressive transfer approach right now 🤩! They're not afraid to break the bank for top talent, and I think Jorgen Strand Larsen could be a game-changer for them. £50m is a huge investment, but if they can make it work, it'll be a great addition to their squad.

But what's really got me thinking is about the timing of this transfer. With Jean-Philippe Mateta potentially leaving, Palace are already dealing with some uncertainty. Are they overpaying for Larsen? Will it all pay off come match day?

I think it's safe to say that Crystal Palace fans are feeling pretty optimistic about this deal 🙌. They've been waiting for a big signing like this for ages, and I'm excited to see how it plays out. Bring on the Premier League season!
