I'm kinda weirded out by this whole thing... like, I get that universities are under pressure to conform to some admin ideology, but $1.2 billion in reparation is just crazy
And what's with the settlement talks? It feels like UC leaders are more worried about not getting sued than actually fighting for academic freedom
I mean, shouldn't we be expecting more from university administrators? They're supposed to be advocates for students and faculty, not corporate shills
What's the point of having a university if it's just gonna serve as a propaganda machine?
And what about the fact that this ruling is being seen as a "victory" for free speech on campus? Like, isn't that just a euphemism for "we're gonna let you spew your toxic ideology all over the place without any consequences"?
Not buying it, tbh.
We need more voices speaking out against this kind of thing, not just from the left or the right, but from people who actually care about education and critical thinking
