Katie and Allison Crutchfield Reunite, Drop Surprise New Album Under the Name Snocaps

Twin sisters Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee and Allison Crutchfield of Swearin' have reunited under the moniker Snocaps, releasing a surprise album that marks their first new music together since 2011. The self-titled album, out now, features 13 tracks, with contributions from frequent collaborators MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook.

A longtime creative partnership has brought the four musicians together for this project. Lenderman provided backing vocals to tracks on Waxahatchee's 2024 album Tigers Blood, while Cook has been her go-to producer since Saint Cloud in 2020. The duo brings their musical expertise to Snocaps, playing various instruments across the record and lending a hand with engineering and production.

The reunion comes as no surprise, given that Katie and Allison have been collaborating in some capacity for over two decades. As Katie noted, "Allison and I have been, in some way, shape or form, doing this together for over 20 years." With Snocaps, the sisters are once again united behind the mic, delivering a cohesive and innovative sound that showcases their signature blend of punk spirit and melodic depth.

Fans can catch Snocaps live at select shows later this year. With no further dates currently announced, fans will have to wait with bated breath for the opportunity to witness the reunion firsthand. For now, the album stands as a testament to the enduring creative chemistry between these two talented musicians.

I'm kinda surprised they didn't just release it already πŸ€”. I mean, 20+ years of collab? That's like, super rare in this music scene... but at the same time, I don't know if it was just waiting to happen and they needed some motivation to actually put it out now πŸ’Έ. It's cool that MJ and Brad are involved, 'cause they're pros and all that jazz πŸ‘. But still, 13 tracks is a lot! Are we gonna have to listen to the same song like 5 times in a row 🎢? And I'm curious about these live shows... will it be just Katie and Allison up on stage or are MJ and Brad gonna join in too? 🀞

OMG u guys!! Snocaps is back 🎸πŸ”₯ and I'm DYING over this surprise album!!! Katie & Allison's harmonies are always on point but with MJ Lenderman & Brad Cook on board, they're totes taking it to the next level! Their sound is like a perfect blend of punk rock & melodic goodness 😍 - it's literally making me wanna jump up & down πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ! I'm so hyped for their live shows this year 🎟️... I'm def gonna be there with my crew πŸ’–. Snocaps reunion = pure MAGIC ✨

OMG, twin sisters reunite and drop an album? that's like me finding my lost sock - it's a miracle! πŸ˜‚πŸŽΈ Snocaps is a match made in heaven, especially with MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook on board. I mean, who else can make punk spirit and melodic depth sound like a matcha latte and a hug? πŸ€— The sisters' 20-year collaboration history just makes me wonder what kind of crazy, beautiful music they came up with back in the day... did they ever have to Google "how to be cool" together? πŸ™ƒ

just saw that katie and allison crutchfield (aka waxahatchee and swearin') are back together as snocaps lol how long has it been since they last dropped new music? feels like forever πŸŽΈπŸ‘― anyway, can't wait to see them live this year, gotta hear those harmonies again πŸ’•

idk if i'm excited or bored about snocaps reuniting... πŸ€” they've been working together forever and it's not like anything new is coming out of it, but at the same time, katie and allison are super talented and it'll be cool to see what they come up with... 😐 maybe i'm just overhyped for their reunion or something, tbh 🎢

Ugh, I kinda don't get why they're making such a big deal about this reunion... like, I guess it's cool that Katie and Allison are working together again πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ, but can we please just move on from 2011 already? It's like, how many times can we revisit their old music before it gets stale?

On the other hand, MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook are total geniuses for bringing their expertise to Snocaps - those guys are masters of production 🎀. The album actually sounds pretty amazing, all I know is that the 13 tracks seem kinda random 🎢... but hey, maybe that's what they're going for? Like, who needs a cohesive concept when you can just throw 13 different songs together and call it a day?

But wait, don't I already love Waxahatchee and Swearin' individually? And how could I forget about Katie's amazing vocals on the new album?! 🀯 Okay, maybe this reunion thing isn't so bad after all...

πŸŽΈπŸ’– I'm low-key obsessed with Snocaps! Katie & Allison are total musical twinsies, and it's so cool to see them back together after all those years πŸ€—. MJ Lenderman & Brad Cook bringing their A-game to the table is gonna make this album πŸ”₯. Can't wait to catch 'em live later this year - the energy's gonna be electric πŸ’ƒπŸ»! The fact that these two have been collaborating for over 20 years just proves that some creative bonds can last a lifetime πŸ’•.

idk why they're making such a big deal about coming back together πŸ€”, i mean don't get me wrong, it's always dope to see old mates make music again... but like, 20 years apart? that's ages in indie circles lol! anyway, I heard the new album is pretty fire πŸ”₯ MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook are always bringing out the best in Katie & Allison, so i'm hyped for this Snocaps thing! gonna have to check it out 🎢

πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I was just wondering what happened to Snocaps, they were my fave indie band back in college! Katie and Allison's reunion is like a dream come true, all those years of waiting for new music must've been killing me 😩. Their self-titled album sounds incredible, I mean who wouldn't want to hear more of their signature blend of punk and melodic depth? 🎸🎢 And it's awesome that they got to collaborate with MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook, those guys know how to bring out the best in them. I'm def gonna check out their live shows later this year, fingers crossed they announce some more dates soon! πŸ’ƒ

omg i just listened to their new album and it's SO good!!! 😍 i've been following Katie and Allison's solo stuff for years, but this Snocaps project is like they were meant to be together all along... their harmonies are insane! 🎢 i also love that MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook brought their expertise to the table - it makes sense why Swearin' and Waxahatchee have been so successful on their own. anyway, has anyone else listened to the album yet? πŸ€”

omg I'm so over twin sister reunions 🀯 like don't get me wrong I love Waxahatchee and Swearin' but it feels like every year there's some new indie duo forming out of old friendships 🎸. anyway, this Snocaps album sounds pretty cool I guess 🎢 MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook are solid producers so that's a plus. the question is how long can these sisters keep making music together before they just start milking it for nostalgia vibes πŸ˜’. still, I'll give them props for creating something cohesive after 13 years apart πŸ’―

🎸 just heard about Snocaps and I'm totally stoked! those twin sisters are like the ultimate indie rock duo, been making music together for ages 🀝. it's amazing to see them finally release new music under one moniker, and with their longtime collaborators MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook on board, I know this album is gonna be fire πŸ”₯. can't wait to see them live later this year! πŸ’–

OMG u guys! 🀯 I'm literally OBSESSED w/ Snocaps' new album!!! πŸ’₯ It's been ages since we last got new music from Waxahatchee & Swearin', but Katie & Allison brought the heat w/ this 13 track masterpiece. MJ Lenderman & Brad Cook killing it on production duties, btw! 🎀🎸 I'm loving how cohesive their sound is - still got that punk spirit but now w/ more melodic depth 🀩 They're basically meant to be a duo, I mean they've been collabing for over 20 yrs... it's like they were always meant to do this together πŸ”₯
