Linda Hamilton, the actress best known for her iconic role as Sarah Connor in The Terminator franchise, is thrilled to be joining the cast of Netflix's hit show Stranger Things.
Hamilton has been a huge fan of the show since its inception in 2016 and had even considered retiring from acting at one point due to her busy schedule and hip problems. However, after getting an offer from the Duffer brothers, she jumped at the chance to be a part of the show.
"I was like the farthest thing from a scientist at that moment in time," Hamilton recalled about her initial meeting with the Duffer brothers. "But they were very pleasant, and their team is just amazing."
Hamilton will be playing the role of Dr. Kay, a military scientist, but it's Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven that holds a special place in her heart. The two have been spotted together on set, and Hamilton has praised Brown as "stunning to watch" and "so lovely."
"I'm just her biggest fan," Hamilton said. "I really am." She also commended the Duffer brothers for their well-oiled machine-like approach to filmmaking, citing their attention to detail and ability to work together seamlessly.
Hamilton admitted that working on Stranger Things has been a game-changer for her, but she couldn't help feeling a twinge of intimidation at first. "There is a definite part of me that was a little intimidated to come in to a show that already had a certain rhythm and momentum," she said.
Despite the challenges, Hamilton has been thrilled to be a part of the Stranger Things team and has praised their collaborative approach to filmmaking. "It's just wonderful to watch," she said.
In an interview with Variety, Hamilton opened up about her experience working on the show, sharing behind-the-scenes anecdotes and gushing over Millie Bobby Brown's talent. With her Terminator franchise fame and Star Wars stint under her belt, it's clear that Hamilton has been a huge fan of Stranger Things from its very beginning – but who knew she'd end up joining the cast?
