Chicago police are investigating after a 48-year-old man suffered severe injuries when he was robbed and stabbed on a Red Line train in Fuller Park early Thursday morning.
According to authorities, the attack occurred around 11:40 a.m. near the 200 block of West 47th Street, where the victim was confronted by three unknown individuals who demanded his belongings. In a shocking turn of events, one of the suspects produced a sharp object, prompting the victim to engage in a fierce struggle.
Despite being outnumbered, the man managed to fend off two of the attackers, but not before sustaining a puncture wound to his back. The assailants then fled the scene with the victim's stolen property, leaving him to be taken into emergency medical care at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
Despite an ongoing investigation, no arrests have been made, and police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
