A violent altercation on a Manhattan subway train escalated into a fight on the platform, leaving one man seriously injured. Authorities confirmed that the 45-year-old victim suffered multiple stab wounds to his back during the confrontation. The stabbing occurred around 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Union Square L train stop, prompting police to rush to the scene.
As officers responded to the emergency call, they found the wounded man on the platform and took him into custody for treatment at Bellevue Hospital. Miraculously, he is listed in stable condition. However, the suspect managed to escape by fleeing onto an L train wearing a black coat.
Further investigation revealed that the dispute between the two men began on the subway car itself, continuing into the platform area after the train arrived at Union Square. Despite an ongoing investigation, police have yet to make any arrests in connection with the incident.
