Man Utd 0-1 Everton: David Moyes backs Idrissa Gueye after red card

Everton manager David Moyes has come out in support of midfielder Idrissa Gueye, who was sent off in their 1-0 win over Manchester United after an altercation with teammate Michael Keane. Gueye's red card sparked controversy among fans and pundits alike, but Moyes defended his player, saying he likes to see his players "fight" each other.

Moyes believes that when his players are willing to engage in a physical battle with each other, it shows they care deeply about the game and are motivated to win. The manager's comments have been interpreted as an indication that he values passion and intensity over discipline and control.

"I like when my players fight," Moyes said. "It shows they're committed to winning and want to be part of something bigger than themselves." While some may view Gueye's red card as a reckless act, Moyes sees it as a reflection of his player's fire and determination.

The manager's defense of Gueye has sparked debate among fans and pundits, with some arguing that the midfielder's behavior was unacceptable and others seeing it as a necessary evil in the pursuit of victory. Regardless, Moyes' support for Gueye is clear, and he will likely continue to back his player as they look to build on their recent win.

omg can u believe david moyes just said that?! 😲 like, i get it he wants passion in the game but gueye's red card was def a low point 🙅‍♂️ i mean, michael keane is his teammate for crying out loud! Moyes' comments are cool and all but let's not forget that football is about skill and strategy too 💡

I'm not sure about this one... 😐 I mean, I get what Moyes is saying, but isn't there a fine line between passion and just losing control? Like, Gueye's red card was pretty intense... 🤯 Was it really worth risking the game like that? And what about Keane, who got into the altercation with Gueye in the first place? Shouldn't they both be getting roasted for their actions instead of Moyes defending just one of them? 🤷‍♂️ Still, I guess you've gotta admire his dedication to the team... 👍

Idk what people are going on about... Moyes just wants his team to be passionate about the game, you feel? Like, if your players are actually caring about beating the other guy, that's a good thing right? 🤔 I mean, Gueye's red card might've been reckless, but it also shows he's got a lot of fire in him. And from what I've seen of Moyes' tactics, he's always pushing for wins and never backs down. So yeah, if you're gonna lose your cool on the pitch, at least be doing it for the right reasons, you know? 😂

idk why moyes would downplay gueye's behaviour 🤔... that red card was a big deal! 1 red card per team in a game already feels like too much... it's not just about 'fighting' or being passionate, it's about respecting each other and keeping cool under pressure 🙅‍♂️. moyes seems to be prioritizing winning over player safety which is kinda concerning 😬... hope gueye learns from this and doesn't do the same thing again 🤞. also wonder if moyes would say that if it was a defender who clashed with their teammate? 🤔

idk why moyes is makin this big deal about gueye gettin all physical with keane lol but i guess it's cool that moyes thinks it shows they care bout the game if a player's willin to throw punches, it's like they're thinkin bout the team, not just themselves. maybe it's a good thing 4 the team morale? 🤔🏆

idk why moyes gotta defend gueye like that 🤔... it's like he's saying 'hey, we're gonna do whatever it takes to win'... sounds like a bit of a 'win at all costs' attitude 😒... what if the opposition starts fighting back? isn't that just gonna lead to more red cards and injuries? 💔... plus, don't get me wrong, i love the passion and intensity, but there's a fine line between being physical and losing control 🤹‍♂️... maybe moyes is just trying to send a message to his players about what it takes to be successful in this league ⚽️... or maybe he's just trying to get on the right side of his star player 😏... either way, it's gonna be interesting to see how it all plays out 💥
