Man Utd manager: Wayne Rooney reacts to Michael Carrick's possible Man Utd caretaker role

Manchester United Legend Wayne Rooney Thinks Michael Carrick Can Bring Back the Red Devils' Spirit as Potential Caretaker Manager.

Former Manchester United captain and current Sky Sports pundit, Wayne Rooney, has expressed his support for a potential caretaker manager role for legendary midfielder, Michael Carrick. Carrick, who served under Sir Alex Ferguson from 2006 to 2014, was recently appointed director of football strategy at the club, replacing Ed Woodward. However, in light of the current managerial void, Rooney believes that Carrick's experience and passion would be a perfect fit for the role.

Rooney thinks that as caretaker manager, Carrick can bring back the essence of Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson's reign, which dominated English football in the late 90s and early 2000s. According to Rooney, the team needs someone with a deep understanding of the game, who possesses the same passion and dedication that made United great.

As for Rooney himself joining the coaching staff at Old Trafford, he remains open to discussing potential opportunities. The former England striker, now a football pundit, would be eager to get involved with the club again in some capacity.

I'd love to see Michael Carrick back on the dugout, but let's not forget the last thing we need is another 'interim' season ๐Ÿ™„. Either bring in someone with actual managerial experience or just give him a permanent role as 'Caretaker-in-Chief'. Rooney thinks he's got what it takes to take over? I'm sure his punditry skills will translate perfectly to actually making decisions on the pitch ๐Ÿ˜‚. Can we also talk about how Woodward just got replaced and already someone's looking for Carrick to fill the void? The man needs a break from being involved with United ๐Ÿคฏ.

I think it's awesome that Wayne Rooney is giving Michael Carrick his backing ๐Ÿ™Œ. I mean, we all know how much love United has for their legends, and it's hard to argue against Carrick being an excellent fit as a caretaker manager ๐Ÿค”. He's got the experience, he knows the club inside out, and he's passionate about bringing back that special spirit from under Sir Alex ๐Ÿ”ด. Let's be real, who wouldn't want to see United go back to their glory days with someone like Carrick at the helm? ๐Ÿ†

I think its gonna be tough for carrick to fill ed woodwards shoes ๐Ÿค” especially considering the current state of the team. I mean, carrick was only appointed director of football strategy just last week and already there's a managerial vacancy? ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ that being said, rooney makes some good points about carricks experience and passion for the game. he did have a great run as player under ferguson so it would be nice to see him bring some of that magic back to old trafford ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm not sure if I'd want Carrick as caretaker manager but idk maybe it's worth a shot? He does have that experience and we all know how much of an impact Fergie had on Manchester United so he's gotta be a big influence or something ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ฌ. Rooney's right though, the team does need someone with his level of knowledge and passion about the game. It'd be sick to see Carrick take over as caretaker manager for a bit, even if it's just till the summer...

๐Ÿค” idk how carrick can bring back the red devils' spirit, mate... like, he was great under ferguson but that was ages ago. doesn't seem like enough experience for a caretaker manager gig ๐Ÿ™„ and what's with rooney thinking he should be part of the coaching staff too? sounds like just another nepotism move to me ๐Ÿ˜’

Omg this is so cool ๐Ÿ˜ I love how Wayne Rooney is throwing his support behind Michael Carrick for a caretaker role, he's literally a Manchester United legend ๐Ÿ’ฏ! If anyone can bring back that old spirit of the Red Devils, it's definitely Carrick with his expertise and passion ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ด๐Ÿ‘. And omg Rooney staying open to joining the coaching staff is like the ultimate dream come true for us United fans ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ˜

OMG ๐Ÿคฉ I'm totally with Wayne on this one!!! ๐Ÿ˜† Carrick is the ultimate Manc United legend and I trust him completely! ๐Ÿ’ฏ He knows what it takes to win championships and he's got that special X factor ๐Ÿ”ฎ. It would be amazing if he comes in as caretaker manager and brings back that Ferguson era magic โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ซ. Rooney making a coaching stint at Old Trafford wouldn't surprise me either ๐Ÿ˜Ž, I'd love to see him working closely with Carrick! ๐Ÿ‘Š Let's bring back the Red Devils' spirit ๐Ÿ’ช!

๐Ÿค” think carrick'd be sick manager tho ๐Ÿคฏ his understanding of game is spot on and hes got that passion & dedication that made united great back in day ๐Ÿ’ช whats not to love? Rooney's got good taste imo, cant see him doing anything wrong ๐Ÿ˜Ž

man this is like old times thinkin wayne rooney and micah carrick are on the same page its about time we see some stability at united after ed woodward's mess ๐Ÿ™„ i mean who wouldn't want to bring back that Ferguson spirit? Carrick was a legend on the pitch cant imagine him as a caretaker manager but idk what the alternative is lol just hope he can sort out our defence ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I don't know about this ๐Ÿค”... Carrick's not exactly known for his gaffer skills ๐Ÿ˜. I mean, he's great at tactics and all that, but can he really bring back the magic? It feels like they're trying to recreate the past rather than looking towards the future ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ. And what if it doesn't work out? The fans are always gonna be hungry for success, no matter who's in charge ๐Ÿ’”. Rooney seems like a good guy and all, but I'm not convinced this is the right move โšฝ๏ธ.

I cant believe its come to this ๐Ÿ˜ฉ! Michael Carrick as caretaker manager? Its like going back in time, remember when Sir Alex Ferguson was at the helm and we dominated everything ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ”ฅ! If anyone can bring that spirit back, it's got to be Mick ๐Ÿ‘Š. I mean, Wayne Rooney knows his stuff, he was a legend on the pitch himself ๐Ÿ™Œ! And let's be honest, who better to know what makes Manchester United tick than someone who played under Fergie and then came back? ๐Ÿ” I'd love to see him take over for a few games, just to give us all a taste of that old magic โœจ. Rooney joining the coaching staff would be even more amazing ๐Ÿคฉ! The man's got class ๐Ÿ‘‘!
