Manchester United dent Arsenal’s title bid with dramatic 3-2 win

Manchester United dealt another crushing blow to Arsenal's title aspirations, sinking the Gunners 3-2 at their own Emirates Stadium. Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha sealed the dramatic victory for the Red Devils with a stunning late strike three minutes from full time, sending the Manchester United faithful into raptures.

The opening goal was a self-inflicted wound, as Lisandro Martinez's own goal put Arsenal ahead in the 29th minute. However, it took only five minutes for United to equalise, courtesy of Bryan Mbeumo's well-taken strike. The Cameroon forward has now scored nine goals in all competitions since joining the club from Brentford.

The match was a seesaw battle, with Patrick Dorgu's clinical finish giving United the lead after halftime. Arsenal thought they had snatched a draw when Lammens failed to clear Saka's corner, only for Mikel Merino to bundle home the equaliser in the 84th minute. However, Cunha has other ideas.

The Brazilian's stunning drive from 25 yards flew past David Raya and into the top corner with just three minutes remaining, sending United into a frenzy of joy. The win marked United's first at the Emirates Stadium since December 2017 under Michael Carrick's interim reign.

The victory sends Manchester United to fourth in the Premier League table, while Arsenal is now only four points above second-placed Manchester City and third-placed Aston Villa, who both closed the gap with wins against Wolves and Newcastle respectively. The loss also marked a first defeat for Arsenal in 13 games in all competitions since December.

For Arteta, this latest defeat will be a worrying sign for his team's title bid. With several high-profile defeats already this season, it remains to be seen how his team will bounce back from this setback.

Meanwhile, United's victory has injected new life into their season and sets them on the right track under Carrick's interim leadership. The former Middlesbrough boss has already shown an impressive touch and may have just turned Manchester United around.

Man oh man... 😱🔥 Arsenal is in a world of trouble right now. They can't seem to catch a break, and it's like they're giving the title to everyone else on purpose. I mean, come on, 13 games without a loss? That's just too good to be true. And now this latest defeat... Arteta's gotta do some serious soul-searching, because this team's not going anywhere without some major changes.

But you know who's looking up? Manchester United! 🤩 They're like the ultimate underdog story right now. Carrick comes in and suddenly they're on fire. I'm loving it! The way Mbeumo's been scoring goals left and right is insane, and Cunha's late strike was pure magic. That's what happens when you believe in your team and play with heart.

For me, this season is all about the underdogs. Teams that nobody thought were going anywhere are now giving the big boys a run for their money. And I gotta say, I'm loving every minute of it! 💥

man this latest match is wild 🔥🔴⚽️ like arsenal was cruising along thinking they had it in the bag but nope, mbeumo strikes back and now matheus cunha saves the day 🙌 what's going on with arsenal though, 13 games without a loss and then you get smashed by man u? 🤔 arteta gotta figure out his strategy or its gonna be tough to catch up with city & villa

omg what a match!! 😱 man u r really killing it rn! i think arsenal had it in the bag at like 80% mark but then mbeumo came outta nowhere & scored lolol they cant even keep their lead for one game 🤣 anyway, cunha's goal was pure magic ❤️ cant wait 2 see wat happens nxt time these two teams meet!

🐈😹 what a game! i was watching this match with my mates and we were all like "oh man, arsenal is gonna crush man utd" but then matheus cunha comes along and saves the day 💥 i mean, who needs that kind of skill on the pitch? and lisandro martinez's own goal is just...wow 😂. it was like united was trying to sabotage their own chances 🤔. anyway, this win for man utd is huge and carrick seems to be doing a pretty good job as interim boss 👍. but for arsenal, arteta's gotta regroup and come up with a new strategy 'cause they're not gonna win the league if they keep losing like this 😬.

🤯💥 so like what happened here is arsenal was cruising at 2-1 up but then mbeumo equals it for united and then they take the lead at halftime lol patrick dorgu scored that beauty clinical finish 🎯👏

but anyway this game was insane matheus cunha's late strike is just 🔥😲 i mean who needs a goalie when u got a striker like that 3 minutes from full time and still manages to score a winner 🤦‍♂️

and now united is all over arsenal's title aspirations lol they went from like 4th place to maybe even top 2 now this is getting exciting 👀🔝
