I'm not sure why Megyn Kelly is trying to spin this one
. Defending a comment that's basically telling a woman to "smile more" just 'cause she's had similar advice from Roger Ailes is a bit much, if you ask me
. I mean, come on, Ailes was forced out of Fox News for alleged sexual harassment - does Kelly really want to be associated with that? 
And let's be real, the phrase "smile more" is super problematic. It's like, we get it, women in the news are expected to present themselves a certain way, but can't we focus on the actual issues instead of just their appearance?
I think Kelly should've stuck with her original response - yeah, she might have offered similar advice to Collins before, but that doesn't excuse Trump's comment.

I don't think it's going to work. The fact-checking community is onto her, and so are the rest of us
