Ministers' claims to have helped JLR in doubt as ยฃ1.5bn support left untouched

OMG u gotta feel 4 these supplier fams!!! its like they were left hanging out 2 dry ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ’” JLR's shutdown caused so much chaos & suppliers are still struggling 2 make ends meet ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ช but like i get it, govt wants 2 give credit where credit is due ๐Ÿ™Œ 2 JLR but lets not forget about the real MVPs - the suppliers who r still reeling from all this ๐Ÿ’•

Ugh, I'm getting so frustrated with this situation ๐Ÿ™„. It seems like the gov't is trying to take credit for helping out JLR and its suppliers, but it's just not adding up ๐Ÿ”ข. If they guaranteed a ยฃ1.5bn loan facility, but no money has been drawn down from it, then what's the point? ๐Ÿ’ธ

I mean, I get that JLR was struggling, but the gov't needs to do more to support its suppliers ๐Ÿค. The CBM is right, some parts makers have gotten a bit of cash flow, but many others are still in trouble โš ๏ธ. It's just not fair to leave them high and dry.

I'm also curious about why JLR decided to use its own cash reserves to fund the support scheme instead of using the gov't guarantee ๐Ÿค‘. Did they really want to keep that cash for themselves? ๐Ÿ˜’

Anyway, I hope the gov't can do better than this โšก๏ธ. Suppliers need more help, not just a Band-Aid solution ๐Ÿ’‰.

๐Ÿค” I'm a bit miffed at the government's claims of helping Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) with its supply chain after that cyber-attack ๐Ÿšซ. I mean, if they really did help out as much as they're saying, we'd see some actual cash flow into those suppliers' pockets ๐Ÿ’ธ. But instead, JLR used their own funds to support the scheme and only a tiny bit of that ยฃ1.5bn loan guarantee went towards helping them out ๐Ÿค‘.

It's also worrying that the government is basically doing a PR stunt here ๐Ÿ“บ. I get that they want to look good after supporting JLR, but at what cost? Suppliers are still reeling from the cyber-attack and the lack of support from the government has only added to their woes ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. Can't we just be honest with ourselves and say that this was a PR stunt rather than claiming credit for actual help ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ?

It's also not fair on those smaller parts makers who are struggling to stay afloat โฌ‡๏ธ. The Confederation of British Metalforming (CBM) is right to call out the government for more support ๐Ÿ™Œ. We need concrete action, not just empty promises ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ.

It's like, the government is trying to save face here ๐Ÿ™„. They're saying they helped JLR with its supply chain after a cyber-attack, but really it was just a PR move. I mean, no money has been drawn from the ยฃ1.5bn loan facility, and JLR used their own cash reserves to fund the support scheme for suppliers? That's not exactly what I'd call 'help'. The suppliers are still struggling, and it's like the government is just patting themselves on the back for doing something that's already been done by the company itself ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

And can we talk about how this whole situation highlights the weaknesses in our supply chain? I mean, JLR's shutdown caused chaos, and now many parts makers are still reeling from it. It's like they're expecting the suppliers to just magically recover? The CBM is right, more support is needed for those further down the chain. This loan guarantee was supposed to be a safety net, but it feels like just another band-aid on a much deeper wound ๐Ÿ’ธ.

The government's response is all about optics at this point ๐Ÿ“บ. They're trying to spin this as a success story, but we all know the truth. It's time for them to take responsibility and actually do something meaningful to support our suppliers. Otherwise, it's just going to be another example of how politics and business don't always align ๐Ÿค.

The UK gov's support for JLR was pretty half-hearted if you ask me ๐Ÿค”. Like, they're saying they helped out with a ยฃ1.5bn loan guarantee, but no one's really drawing that cash... It just makes suppliers think the gov's not taking their struggles seriously ๐Ÿ˜’. The fact that it mainly benefited JLR and only some tier 1 suppliers is just dodgy ๐Ÿค‘. Lower-tier suppliers are still getting squeezed ๐Ÿคฏ. Can't say I blame 'em for being skeptical about the whole thing ๐Ÿ™„. Guess we'll have to wait & see if the gov really steps up their game or not ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ
