what about the people living in western sahara tho? their futures are being decided by diplomats and world leaders without giving them a say in the matter

I think this is a big deal for Morocco, but not entirely surprising. I mean, it's been pretty clear that the US was gonna be backing them on this one. The fact that it got approved by the UN Security Council is definitely a major win for Morocco, and it's awesome to see all those Moroccans celebrating in Rabat! 
However, I do think there are some concerns about the resolution not addressing key issues with the Polisario Front... like transparency and accountability. That's gotta be worrying for people who care about human rights and all that. Still, I think it's a positive step forward for Morocco and the region as a whole. And who knows, maybe this will finally help them get some real progress on resolving the Western Sahara dispute? 
so like this is big news right? Morocco just got international recognition for its claim over Western Sahara... but on the flip side, it looks like some people are saying that the US-drafted resolution doesn't address some major issues... transparency and accountability, yeah that's a bit of a problem. 
still though, for morocco this is a big win, shows they're serious about finding a peaceful solution to the whole thing. the fact that algeria hasn't spoken out too much yet, suggests they might be open to talks... so fingers crossed for some real progress soon! I got my map mixed up
