Morrissey Unveils New Album, "Make-Up Is A Lie", After Years in Limbo.

Mozzart, the iconic frontman of The Smiths, has finally found a label willing to release his highly anticipated new album, "Make-Up Is A Lie". The album is set to drop on March 6 via Sire/Warner Bros. and marks the culmination of years of creative work with producer Joe Chiccarelli.

The title track from the album, also titled "Make-Up Is A Lie", has been made available for public listening. The album was recorded at Studio La Fabrique in Southern France, featuring a talented array of musicians including Jesse Tobias, Camila Grey, and Brendan Buckley.

Eleven new songs are included on the album, as well as an unexpected cover of Roxy Music's 1973 classic "Amazona", a song Morrissey has never performed live before. As a lifelong fan of Roxy Music, he previously sang their tune "Street Life" during his 2006 European tour.

Morrissey originally titled the album "You're Right, It's Time", but production was delayed due to issues finding a distributor. Despite this, Morrissey continued touring throughout Europe and America, playing packed sets featuring both Smiths classics and solo material. However, like many of his shows, some were canceled at short notice.

The track listing for "Make-Up Is A Lie" reads as follows: 1. "You're Right, It's Time", 2. "Make-Up Is a Lie", 3. "Notre-Dame", 4. "Amazona", 5. "Headache", 6. "Boulevard", 7. "Zoom Zoom the Little Boy", 8. "The Night Pop Dropped", 9. "Kerching Kerching", 10. "Lester Bangs", 11. "Many Icebergs Ago", and 12. "The Monsters of Pig Alley".

OMG, I'm so stoked to hear that Morrissey's new album is finally coming out!!! 🎉 I've been waiting for ages to get my hands on this one! The title track "Make-Up Is A Lie" sounds amazing and I love the Roxy Music cover - it's a great nod to his influences. 🎶 The fact that he was able to record with such talented musicians at Studio La Fabrique in Southern France is just incredible. I've always loved how Morrissey pushes boundaries and takes risks with his music, and this album definitely sounds like that. Can't wait for March 6th! 💖

Ugh, another album from Morrissey and I'm already sensing a bunch of pretentious lyrics about how he's still the "real" poet laureate of the UK 🙄. And what's with the title track being called after one of his past failed attempts at finding a label? Classic move, Mozzy. He thinks we're all just gonna lap up whatever mediocre album he churns out next without questioning it. Mark my words, this album is gonna be overhyped and underwhelming. The only exciting thing is that Roxy Music cover, but even that's probably gonna be some awkward stage performance where Morrissey gets booed off the stage 😂.
 
I'm so stoked that Morrissey's finally getting his album out there, it's been ages since we've had new music from the man 🎸! The fact that he was going to release an album called "You're Right, It's Time" but ended up changing it due to distributor issues is pretty wild 🤯. And can we talk about the cover of Roxy Music's "Amazona"? That's a bold move, Mozzer! I'm curious to see how the rest of the album holds up, especially with some new tracks and songs he's never performed live before...
 
Umm, I'm not sure if I'm excited about this new album... like, I've been waiting for ages, but at the same time, I'm thinking it's probably going to be kinda meh? 🤔 I mean, Morrissey is such an icon and all, but he's had a pretty rough few years, you know? And now that it's finally out, I'm worried he'll just... be himself again or something. 😒

I don't know, maybe I'm just being paranoid, but the whole thing about him having to find a new label and dealing with distributor issues makes me think this album might not be as polished as some of his other work. And the fact that it's called "Make-Up Is A Lie" now, instead of its original title... I don't know, it just feels like he's trying too hard to prove something? 🤷‍♀️

But, on the other hand... I mean, have you heard the track listing?! It looks so interesting! And I love Roxy Music, so a cover of "Amazona" is always a good thing. Maybe this album will surprise me and be way better than I think it'll be... 🎶?

omg u guys i'm literally shaking with excitement 🤯 i just heard the news about morrissey's new album and it's finally happening!!! 😍 i've been waiting for like forever for him to release a new one and now that it's finally coming out on march 6th i can barely contain my enthusiasm 💥 i love how he changed the title from "You're Right, It's Time" to "Make-Up Is A Lie" btw i think it's so fitting since his music has always been about speaking truth to power 🤫 and i'm sure this album is going to be a masterpiece 💖

I mean, who needs a label to validate your art when you've got years of perfectionism to show for it? Mozzer's been working on this album for ages, and I'm pretty sure the wait has been totally worth it... said no one ever . omg I'm like so late to the party but omg "Make-Up Is A Lie" finally exists 🤩 i've been waiting for ages for a new Mozzy album and this one looks AMAZING! "Amazona" is such a great choice - I loved when he sang that Roxy Music song on his 2006 tour, it's like he's bringing back all the memories 🎵 and Jesse Tobias as a collaborator? win-win in my book 🤝 can't wait to dive into this album and give you all my thoughts when it comes out 😂
 
I'm kinda surprised he's finally getting an album out, I mean it's been ages 🤔🎶. But honestly, can't we just call the album whatever he wants? Like, title was changed and then changed again... is it really that much to ask for a stable release date? 🙄

I love that there's a cover of "Amazona" though, always been one of my fave Roxy Music songs 🎵. But I'm not sure if the other tracks are gonna blow me away or what... Morrissey's solo stuff has been pretty hit-or-miss for me in the past 😐.

On the bright side, it's great to see him staying active and still putting on awesome shows, even with those last-minute cancellations 🤦‍♂️. And who knows, maybe this album will be a game-changer... or not?

omg i just heard about this new morrissey album and im so stoked!!! i never thought ill see the day where he releases a new one 🤩 anyway, i was thinking about what kinda makeup i should wear to the album release party and then i started wondering if morrissey still has his own makeup line lol? also, did u know that studio la fabrique in southern france is like a total tourist trap for music ppl? its supposed to be super pretty but like, also super overpriced 🤑
