A 19-year-old man's life may hang by a thread as he prepares to face justice for his role in a double tragedy that unfolded in the southwest suburban community of Downers Grove. Nedas Revuckas, of Westmont, is set to appear before a judge on Wednesday, accused of first-degree murder, armed robbery, and multiple other charges in connection with the blaze at an apartment in the 2300 block of Ogden Avenue.
As authorities responded to the fire around 6:10 pm Monday evening, they found 30-year-old Eliza Morales inside, suffering severe injuries from sharp force trauma. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, who was reportedly exposed to smoke inhalation during the blaze, was treated and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for further treatment.
What's even more disturbing is that Morales was pregnant at the time of her murder, adding an extra layer of complexity to this already heinous crime. Revuckas, now charged with intentional homicide of an unborn child, faces a multitude of charges in connection with the fire and Morales' untimely death.

. I just don't get how things can escalate so quickly. It's like, you're hanging out with your friends, having a good time, and then suddenly one of them turns into a monster

. And on top of that, he's gotta live with the fact that he took an innocent woman's life when she was pregnant... it's like, what were you even thinking?! 
i mean what's going on in this world that someone would commit such a heinous act of violence? and now the guy who did it is facing serious charges but what's gonna happen to him? will he ever be held accountable for what he's done? i just can't even imagine how hard this must be for the family and friends of the victims
