Ugh
I'm literally shaking with rage
thinking about those historic facilities getting torn down
! I mean, can't we just preserve a little bit of history for once?
Those structures have seen some serious action over the decades, testing out Saturn launch vehicles and servicing the Hubble Space Telescope... it's like they're throwing away a piece of American ingenuity
I'm not exactly sure what the point is in tearing them down, though. Are we really that much behind now?
The Neutral Buoyancy Simulator was basically like a giant swimming pool for astronauts
, and the T-tower was used to test out rocket components... how can you just get rid of all that knowledge and experience?
I guess it's about saving taxpayer resources and modernizing the center, but what's the point if we're not preserving some of our history?
It's like they're taking away a piece of NASA's soul... I know, I'm being dramatic
.
