I think it's crucial to acknowledge the systemic failures that allowed law enforcement to wreak havoc on early entrepreneurs and patients. The lack of a comprehensive licensing system created an environment ripe for abuse, where asset forfeiture and selective prosecution became routine tactics. 
It's unacceptable that many were punished based on optics rather than evidence. Richmond's story is a harrowing reminder of the human cost of these policies. We need to learn from this period to ensure a more regulated and equitable cannabis industry in America.
