?! Trump thinks he can just swoop in and start deporting ppl like they're rats? Newsflash, dude: New Orleans ain't just about crime, it's about culture, community, and people! 14% of the population is Latinx? That's a big deal! And what's with all this "crime problem" drama? It's like he's never been to the city before

And what's even more messed up is that ppl are actually gonna be scared and unsure of their rights. Can't they just have some basic info on how to protect themselves? Like, what if I'm a doc or a teacher and I get mistaken for an undocumented immigrant?
Community groups need to step in here and educate ppl ASAP!

just thinking about this is giving me chills... i dont think trump has any idea what hes getting himself into here. new orleans is like nowhere you can imagine the mix of cultures and people but also the resilience and community spirit. its crazy that theyre warning people to report ice sightings 
and have community text threads to alert each other... like, how are people supposed to be aware of these raids? i hope the cops do stick to their guns and not participate in any raids or deportations... thats just basic human decency

And isn't it weird that the mayor said the city has a "crime problem" even though crime rates are actually lower this year? Didn't they watch the news last week? 
Anyway, I heard from my aunt who knows someone who's friends with an immigrant that it's super stressful for people who might get caught. Maybe we can just make a big sign saying "Hey, welcome!" and try to be nice to everyone?
