New York City is making a top secret map of everything under the street

🤔 So they're making a secret map of New York's underground stuff to save time and money... like, water lines and electricity stuff. I guess it's because of what happened after 9/11? They want to know the soil composition and all that jazz, which is weird but I suppose important for construction projects.

I don't get why they can't just share the data with anyone, though. Like, why do they need a "cut request system" that lets officials access specific locations at certain times? It sounds like it's gonna be super bureaucratic 🙄. But hey, if it saves lives and reduces costs, I'm all for it! I just wish they'd explain it in a simpler way so we laypeople can understand what's going on...
