New York’s Billionaires Are Bending the Knee to Zohran Mamdani

The Billionaires of New York Are Finally Bending the Knee

It's a moment of triumph for the people of New York City. Zohran Mamdani, the city's newly elected mayor and first Muslim mayor in U.S. history, has defied the odds to win over the hearts – and wallets – of the city's billionaire elite.

The road to victory was paved with controversy and hostility. Mamdani faced relentless attacks from his opponents, who portrayed him as an extremist and a threat to American values. But despite the vitriol, Mamdani persevered, and on Tuesday night, he emerged victorious in a stunning upset.

And now, it seems that many of those billionaires are eating their words – or at least, offering them back with a smile. Bill Ackman, the hedge fund mogul who had contributed nearly $2 million to anti-Mamdani efforts, tweeted out congratulations early Wednesday morning, saying "congrats on the win. Now you have a big responsibility." Ackman's olive branch was met with scorn from some of his peers, but for now, at least, he appears willing to put aside their differences.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has also extended an offer of assistance, urging Mamdani to call the outgoing mayor of Detroit for advice. While Dimon's words were laced with condescension, it seems that even he recognizes the importance of finding common ground – as long as it suits him, of course.

And then there's Mike Novogratz, the crypto billionaire who urged his fellow billionaires to reach out to Mamdani and offer their support. "Once you're the mayor, we've got to be sure he's successful in keeping New York a thriving community," he said. But it remains to be seen whether this newfound cooperation is genuine or just another way for the rich to line their own pockets.

Of course, not all of the billionaires are willing to swallow their pride so easily. Joe Gebbia, co-founder of Airbnb and a major donor to anti-Mamdani super PACs, has remained silent on the matter. And billionaire Bloomberg, who spent $5 million trying to defeat Mamdani in the primary, has also kept mum.

But as the dust settles, one thing is clear: the billionaires of New York City have finally found themselves on the receiving end of some well-deserved humility. And for now, at least, that's something to celebrate.

😂 Oh man, this is amazing! Finally, someone who's not afraid to get their hands dirty and put in the work has won over the "elites". Zohran Mamdani, you're a total rockstar 🤟♂️! I love how they're all trying to butter each other up now. Bill Ackman thinks he can just tweet some congratulations and expect everyone to be best buds? Please, give me a break 😂. And Jamie Dimon's got some nerve, acting like he's doing us all a solid while also being super condescending 🤢. But hey, at least it's nice to see the billionaires eating their own words for once 👍. Can't wait to see what kind of changes Mamdani brings to NYC! 💥

idk what all the fuss was about 🤷‍♀️... like, yes, Zohran Mamdani won and he's gonna be the mayor 🙌 but can we just chill out for a sec? 🙅‍♂️ it's not like these billionaires were being super nice to him before, so now they're "congratulating" him with a bunch of caveats 🤔 like, what's up with that? 🤑 is this supposed to be some kinda olive branch or something? 💐 i mean, i get that Ackman and Dimon are trying to save face, but can't we just appreciate the fact that Mamdani won fair and square without all the drama? 😒

So I think this is a good time to draw a flowchart of how billionaire relationships work in NYC 🤔
```
+-----------------------+
Mamdani Wins
+-----------------------+
v
+-----------------------+
Billionaires
Offer Olive Branch
+-----------------------+
v
Anyway, I think it's cool that some billionaires are willing to put aside their differences and work with Zohran Mamdani. It shows that even the wealthy can acknowledge when they're wrong 😊
But at the same time, we gotta keep an eye out for any ulterior motives, like trying to gain favor or influence 🤑
idk about this billionaire apology tour... 🤑💸 seems like they're just trying to save face and gain brownie points with a super lefty mayor 👀 zohran mamdani is doing his thing, but is it all really gonna be about the benjamins? 🤔 still think some of these billionaires are just playing 4 attention 📺
😊 so what's going on here? basically these billionaire rich folk in new york city were trying to bring down zohran mamdani, the new muslim mayor, with all sorts of nasty stuff, but he still won in a huge upset! now it seems like some of them are eating their words and being super nice to him. like bill ackman who's all "congrats on the win" and then trying to imply that mamdani has big responsibilities now. 🤔
and jpmorgan chase ceo jamie dimon is sending mamdani advice from the outgoing mayor of detroit, but let's be real, it's probably just an attempt to make himself look good in front of his peers. 💼
but i do think there's some value in mike novogratz's message of wanting to support mamdani and help new york stay a thriving community. 🌆 it's all about finding common ground, right?
of course not everyone is being super nice like that... joe gebbia from airbnb is still being pretty quiet on the whole thing, and billionaire bloomberg just won't comment. 👀
anyway, i think this is a great moment of growth for these billionaires to swallow their pride and try to be more supportive. who knows, maybe it'll even lead to some positive change in new york city 🤞
I don’t usually comment but it’s kinda cool to see Zohran Mamdani winning over the billionaires 🤑. I mean, they were all trash talking him and stuff during the campaign, but in the end, he came out on top 💪. It’s like, good for him and all that 😊. But what really gets me is how some of these billionaires are suddenly playing nice 🤝. Like Bill Ackman tweeting congratulations with a bit of sarcasm 😏, and Jamie Dimon trying to sound helpful but still kinda condescending 🙄. And then there’s Mike Novogratz trying to be all about community and support 💕. I don’t know if it’s real or just them lining their pockets, but either way, it’s a nice change of pace from the usual drama 💁‍♀️.
I'm telling you, this is a huge deal 🤯! I mean, these billionaires are used to getting what they want, but Zohran Mamdani has taken it away from them 😂. It's like they're finally realizing that the people of New York City are not just their wallets 💸. Ackman and Dimon trying to make nice, it's all a bit fake for me 🙄, but Novogratz is onto something with his "support" 💸. And let's be real, whoever doesn't want to play ball with Mamdani is gonna get left behind ⏱️. The people of NYC deserve better than these billionaires trying to buy their way out of doing what's right 🤷‍♂️.
🤔 I gotta correct you, dude - it's not like these billionaires are "bending the knee" or anything. They're just trying to salvage their rep after getting roasted by Zohran Mamdani on the campaign trail 😂. Bill Ackman and Jamie Dimon are just trying to save face, but let's be real, they were already in it for the money. And Mike Novogratz? He's probably just looking out for his own interests, as per usual 🤑. The only one who actually deserves some credit is Zohran himself - he played the game and came out on top 👏.
OMG, can you believe it? The billionaire elite in NYC are FINALLY stepping up their game 🤑🙌! I mean, who would've thought that Zohran Mamdani, the first Muslim mayor in US history, would win over their hearts (and wallets)? 😂 Those guys were low-key nasty during the campaign but now they're all about being supportive 💯. Bill Ackman is like "hey, congrats on winning, let's be friends" 🤝 and Jamie Dimon is throwing shade with his condescending advice 🙄. But for real though, this is a major win for NYC and we should totes celebrate! 👏 Mike Novogratz might just have a point about supporting the mayor after all 💸. Fingers crossed that these billionaires will actually follow through on their promises 😊. Can't wait to see what's next! 🤔
just read about zohran mamdani winning the election and i gotta say its kinda crazy how the rich folks in nyc are finally bending their knee lol 🤣💸 they were so harsh on him during the campaign but now they're all like "hey congrats we'll be good" 🙄 anyway, im not surprised that some of them would try to play it cool after losing but its still nice to see them extend an olive branch (or in mike novogratz's case a crypto bribe) 💸💰
I'm loving this shift in power dynamics 🤩! It's like they've finally realized that Zohran Mamdani is not a threat, but actually a breath of fresh air for the city. The billionaires are being forced to acknowledge their own biases and privilege 😂. I mean, come on, Bill Ackman's tweet was like a "I'm sorry you won" message with a side of condescension 🙄. And Jamie Dimon's offer of advice? Please, it's just another way for him to feel important 💁‍♂️.
But what's really interesting is how this change in attitude could lead to some real positive change in the city 🤝. If the billionaires start using their influence and resources to support Mamdani's initiatives, it could be a game-changer for NYC 🌆. Let's see if they can actually put aside their egos and work towards the greater good 💖.
OMG u gotta love how Zohran Mamdani just proved all those billionaires wrong 🤯! I mean, they were so against him during the campaign but now they're like "hey, we'll support him"... lol yeah right 😂. It's kinda cool that Bill Ackman is extending an olive branch and even Jamie Dimon is offering some advice, but let's be real, it's all about who benefits from this situation 💸. Still, it's a big win for NYC and Mamdani's message of unity & inclusivity 🙌. Maybe we can learn from the billionaires that sometimes you gotta swallow your pride & work together 👊
idk why ppl r gonna start thinkin zohran mamdani is all good now cuz he won elections 🤔 meanwhile his policies r still pretty sketchy, like what's up wit him on affordable housing 2 begin w/?? & im not buyin the olive branch from bill ackman, that dude's just tryna save face 💸
lolol I mean, who would've thought, right? Billionaires eating their own words... it's like they're trying out for a role in a Marvel movie 🤣 Mamdani's win is a big deal, and the billionaires are finally willing to get on board with the new mayor. Bill Ackman's tweet was straight fire 🔥 "congrats on the win. Now you have a big responsibility"... like he's trying out for a role in a soap opera 📺 JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon offering advice to Mamdani? Sounds like someone's desperate to get in good with the new mayor 😂 Mike Novogratz saying they've got to support Mamdani... if only it was that easy, right? 😉
🤔 I'm not buying it yet... how did we go from "billionaire elite turn against Zohran Mamdani" to them all suddenly becoming good friends? 🤑 Where are the sources on Bill Ackman's sudden change of heart? And what about Jamie Dimon's condescending tweet? Was that a genuine olive branch or just PR spin? 🤷‍♀️ Also, what's the real motive behind Mike Novogratz's "support" for Mamdani? Is this just another way to get access to NYC's thriving community and lucrative deals? 🤑 I need some concrete evidence before I start celebrating the billionaires' newfound humility... 💸
🤔 idk how this is possible... zohran mamdani was like the underdog from nowhere and he still managed to pull off a big win 🙌. i feel bad for those billionaires who were trying to take him down though, they looked really ugly while doing it 😒. anyway, i hope zohran can bring about some real change in nyc and not just be a puppet to the rich guys 👀. gotta stay tuned and see how this all plays out 📺
