NYC has record number of heat complaints as frigid temps drag on: ‘It’s very stressful’

Ugh, can you believe this?! It's like they're trying to make our lives miserable on purpose 🤯! I mean, I'm all for a good excuse to cozy up with a warm cup of coffee and watch some old movies, but 80k heat complaints in ONE MONTH? That's just ridiculous 😂. And don't even get me started on the fact that people have been without heat or hot water since OCTOBER! Like, what even is October anymore? 🍁

And can we talk about how outdated these buildings are?! It's like they're expecting us to be superheroes and fix everything ourselves 💪. I mean, I'm all for DIY spirit, but come on, folks! Get some help already! 🤦‍♀️. And don't even get me started on the coordination between agencies... it's like trying to solve a puzzle blindfolded 🎯.

Anyway, I just feel so bad for these people who are struggling to stay warm. Can we at least get some hot cocoa and a Netflix marathon going on over here? ☕👍

omg u guys I'm literally so worried about ppl living in nyc rn the cold snap is crazy like they're filing complaints left & right over no heat or hot water it's so sad that some ppl have been dealing with this for months and theres just nothing being done about it 🤕

i feel bad 4 those living in old buildings where fixing the boiler takes forever like it's not just a matter of calling someone to fix it u gotta coordinate with multiple agencies & plumbers which is soooo complicated i dont know how ppl deal w/ that stress

anyway u guys thinkNYC should do more to help ppl during this cold snap or is it all on residents 2 deal w/ their own heat probs 🤔

🤕 I feel so bad for these ppl living in NYC right now. Like, 80k complaints? That's insane! Decades-old buildings just cant handle the cold, but landlords still gotta pay their bills lol. And NYCHA is like, "we got this" but it sounds like they're struggling too.

The thing that really gets me is that ppl are being forced to live without heat or hot water for months already... October 2025?! What's going on? Did the city just forget about all these buildings or what?

And I get it, repairing boilers takes time, but come on! If they had more people working on it and coordinating with each other, maybe ppl wouldn't be freezing their butts off. It's like a big team effort, not just one person trying to fix everything alone 🤦‍♀️.

I'm glad the city is acknowledging this is a "all-hands-on-deck situation" tho. And the idea of ppl helping each other out during this time is so beautiful ❤️. Maybe we can learn something from this and make our cities better, you know?

Ugh, this is wild ❄️ like, I'm all about cozying up by the fireplace, but NYC residents are literally freezing their buns off 🥶 right now. Eighty thousand complaints is crazy! I get it, landlords can't just magic out those repairs, but 40 degrees in an apartment? That's not cool 😒. NYCHA's added after-hours teams might be a good start, but if the response time is still under seven hours, that's not exactly reassuring ⏰. Can we please just have some decent winters for once? It feels like everyone's stuck in a Bridget Jones moment - just when you think it can't get any worse... 😩

Wow 🤯 This is crazy! Who would've thought that NYC would be experiencing record low complaints about heat? Meanwhile, people are literally freezing their butts off 😩 The whole system seems super complicated, with multiple agencies and timelines involved. It's no wonder residents are getting frustrated. Landlords need to step up and prioritize fixing these issues ASAP ⏰
