NYT ‘Strands’ Hints And Answers For Tuesday, November 4

New York Times' Strands Puzzle Offers a Flickering Clue to Tuesday's Theme.

Tuesday has rolled in once again, bringing with it the daily puzzle challenge from The New York Times - Strands. This week's theme is centered around film and offers an array of clues for you to uncover hidden words on a grid that ties into today's theme.

If you're looking to improve your chances at solving this Tuesday's puzzle, here are some helpful hints:

1. A 50-year-old suspense film with an aquatic monster - Can you guess which classic movie is being referenced?

2. Animated pictures about vehicles - Does the mention of animated cars take you back to a childhood favorite?

3. A mystery comedy based on a board game - Will this one help you solve the mystery that lies ahead?

4. Cops and robbers - What are some popular movies featuring law enforcement and crime?

5. Harvey, but not with a rabbit - You might need some knowledge of classic theatre to get this clue

6. Space opera based on a classic sci-fi novel - The mention of space in your mind should take you straight to the stars.

7. Smash! - This title should give you an idea of which famous film or TV show is next.

8. About a pig - You'll need some knowledge of movies centered around farm animals to solve this one.

The spangram for today's puzzle reveals "FOUR LETTER MOVIES." After examining the list, it appears that these are four-letter words from several popular films. The full list of answers includes:

- JAWS
- CARS
- CLUE
- HEAT
- MILK
- DUNE
- HULK
- BABE

While it seems like a bit of an adventure to get the last two words, the completed Strands grid is now available for you to explore.

Ugh, another puzzle that's just going to drive me crazy! 🤯 I mean, what's next? Are they gonna start telling us how many letters are in "MOBI" or something? Can't we just have a normal day without having to worry about word lengths and grid patterns? And what's up with the movie theme? It feels like they're trying too hard to be clever. Give me a break! 🙄

Omg I love this puzzle 🤯! The hints are so clever and funny 😂, especially the one about animated cars - who doesn't love Toy Story? 🎬🚗. But what I find really cool is that the spangram gives us a list of 4-letter movie words... it's like a treasure hunt in itself 🔍! And yay for classic movies 🎥, I'm totally stoked to try and figure out which one fits with the aquatic monster clue 🐳🌊.

omg i'm so loving this week's strands puzzle 🤩 it's like they're making it super easy for us to solve lol, first clue about the aquatic monster and then cars in animated pics, come on NYT! 👍 also, what's with the four-letter movies? did you guys just release a list of movie titles or is that just the spangram? either way, i'm stoked to get solving 🎉

omg u guys i cant even - the new york times strands puzzle has me hooked again this week's film theme has me stumped but i love it ! 🤯 i've been trying to solve clue #3 mystery comedy based on a board game and i think its gonna be tough but i'm on a mission 🎮💡 have u tried any of the other clues yet? btw can someone explain why there are 2 answers for the space opera clue 🚀

OMG, have u seen the new Strands puzzle from The New York Times 🤯📚? I'm low-key obsessed with trying 2 solve it, esp w/ that clue about JAWS 🐟 - who doesn't love a good shark attack scene? 😂 I also noticed they mentioned animated cars, which brings back nostalgic memories of Cars 2 & Lightning McQueen 🏎️👍. Anyways, can't wait 2 see if I can figure out the rest of them 🔍💡

I think its so weird that NYT only releases answers after you've been trying for ages 🤔. Can't they just spill the beans? I mean, I love a good challenge and all, but it's like they want us to feel accomplished when we finally get that one last answer 💪. Anyway, JAWS is so obvious lol, I had that one nailed down from the start 🐟!

🤔 I love that The New York Times keeps bringing back these classic puzzle challenges! 📚 But, man... 50-year-old suspense film with an aquatic monster? Can't help but think of JAWS, but not in a good way 😂. It's like they're trying to torture us with nostalgia or something. On the other hand, CARS and CLUE are definitely some fun ones! 🚗🧐 I'm also curious about the space opera based on DUNE... has anyone else seen that movie? 🚀💫

omg can u believe we have to solve this puzzle on tuesday 🤣 i mean who thought it was a good idea to make us think about movies on a weekday morning? anyway i guess its like a fun little brain teaser, just don't expect me to get all the answers like i'm some kind of film buff lol my cousin loves that movie "jaws" btw i think it's like 50 years old now, is that correct 🤔

omg i cant believe its tuesday again already 🤯💭 i love this puzzle thingy at nytimes and its so much fun trying to figure out those clues 🤔 can anyone tell me what the last two words are tho? i got stuck on that one 🤷‍♂️ 50-year-old suspense film with an aquatic monster sounds so cool! is it jaws or something similar? 🐟🎥

🤔 I'm loving this film-themed puzzle! The hints are so fun and nostalgic, I'm already getting some ideas 🎥. I think I'll start by focusing on JAWS and CARS - those two are probably my faves from the list 😄. And then maybe I can use some movie knowledge to figure out the other ones... it's like a treasure hunt! 🏴‍☠️ But honestly, I'm a bit stumped by the last two clues 🤷‍♀️. Does anyone else need help with the remaining two words?

Omg I'm so obsessed with this new puzzle challenge from The New York Times 🤯 Strands! It's like a treasure hunt on the grid, and the film theme is so cool! I love that they included some nostalgic hints about old movies and childhood favorites 📚🎥 I'm definitely gonna give it a try, especially since I just watched Jaws with my friends over the weekend 🌊👻

ugh, another puzzle 🤦‍♂️ i mean, i love a good brain teaser as much as the next person, but this one just seems like a bunch of random movie titles strung together. can't we get something a bit more... substantial? 🤔 what's the point of solving it all for some arbitrary theme that disappears after the puzzle is over? and don't even get me started on the spangram clue - FOUR LETTER MOVIES? come on, how original 😒

just saw the clue for Tuesdays puzzle - JAWS lol i was hooked on that movie as a kid 🦈👀 also love how they included other 4 letter movies like CARS and CLUE - those were always so much fun to try and figure out 🤔 what's weird is how some of these answers are super obscure... like DUNE was just released last year! 🚀💫

omg i'm so down for this film-themed puzzle 🎥👍 u gotta try 2 solve it w/ those hints tho idk how much more r u gonna need lol 4letter movies r pretty cool, guess wht? 🤔 milky way is like a movie title rn

🤔 I'm loving this film theme! The spangram was super helpful, especially with JAWS and CARS. But I'm still stuck on 5. Harvey, but not with a rabbit... Is it Harvey Milk? 🤷‍♂️ Don't get me wrong, the clue's got me thinking of that classic play, but it can't be right... Maybe someone who's seen the film could enlighten us? 😊

omg I'm literally stuck on clue number 3 it's driving me crazy lol i was thinking maybe it was Clue from the movie but then again there's this other thing called Clue board game so I don't know if that's correct did anyone else get stuck on this one 🤔

🤔 just thinking about all those movies... how did they come up with a 50-year-old suspense film with an aquatic monster? Jaws, right? 🐟 been stuck in that movie since I was a kid
