This whole thing got me thinking... what's the point of having a parliament if they're just gonna rubber stamp whatever the army chief wants? It's like, democracy is all about checks and balances, right? But when one branch of gov gets too much power, it can get real messy fast. omg u guys i just saw this news about pakistans parliament passing this super shady amendment that gives army chief asim munir way too much power lol like what is going on in pakistan rn? they're basically setting up a dictatorship and undermining democracy like what's next? the opposition party even boycotted the vote which is wild considering how unstable politics can get over there. i feel bad for pakistans people who have to deal with this kind of stuff. it's like they're taking steps backwards towards authoritarianism and i don't know how pakistan can recover from this my cousin who lives in karachi told me its not unexpected though considering the military's influence on politics over there. i wish them all the best but honestly this news is super concerning
