Patrick Mahomes’ dad jailed after alleged probation violation in DWI arrest

Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes II, has been jailed for violating his probation after allegedly delivering a high alcohol reading on his ankle monitor. The 55-year-old was booked into the Smith County Jail in Texas at 11:24 a.m. local time.

Mahomes Sr.'s arrest stems from an alleged DWI (driving while intoxicated) offense that occurred on January 1, when his ankle monitor delivered a high alcohol reading. However, subsequent urine test analyses conducted on January 5 and January 9 allegedly came back negative at the time. A motion has been filed to end the violation, allowing Mahomes Sr. to challenge the allegations.

This latest incident is not the first time Mahomes Sr. has been arrested for driving while intoxicated. Exactly two years ago, he was arrested for the same offense in Tyler and had a blood alcohol content of 0.23. As a result, he was sentenced to five years of probation, which could have potentially led to up to 10 years in prison if violated.

Mahomes II, the NFL star, has kept quiet about his father's recent arrest. However, earlier this year, when asked about his dad's 2024 arrest ahead of the Super Bowl, he said that "it's a family matter" and refused to elaborate further. He also spoke highly of his father in an ESPN documentary, saying that knowing how his actions hurt him had "woken him up" to change his ways.

Mahomes Sr.'s latest arrest has sparked concern among fans and observers, who are now waiting for the outcome of this case. As Mahomes II continues to shine on the NFL field, it is unclear when or if he will speak out about his father's situation once again.

can you believe what's happening with Patrick Mahomes Sr.? two years ago he gets arrested for dwi and now he does it again? it's like, what's going on in that head of his? 🤯 anyway, as a fan of patrick mahomes II, it's kinda hard to watch this because i feel bad for him. he's got his whole life together, making millions and killing it on the field, but his dad's still struggling with addiction. i hope he gets help and stays on the right path, cuz it would be super sad if patrick mahomes II had to take care of him 🤝

🤕 Patrick Mahomes Sr.'s latest arrest has got everyone worried - 55 and still getting into trouble 🚔😬 He was supposed to be doing probation for driving under the influence two years ago, but then gets caught again with a high reading on his ankle monitor 📊 And now he's facing five more years in prison if this case goes bad ⏰ I feel bad for Patrick Mahomes II, his son, who's just trying to live his best life and make his dad proud 💪 But it's hard not to wonder when or if he'll speak out about this again 🤔 He already did earlier in the year, but I'm not sure how much more of this family drama he can handle 😩

Oh man, I feel so bad for Patrick Mahomes Sr.! 🤕 He seems like he's really struggling with some tough stuff and I'm not surprised that he got caught up in another DWI thing... two years ago? That's just crazy! ⚠️ 5 years of probation is already a big deal, but to have it violated again is even more heartbreaking. 🤕 I hope his son is doing okay with all this and that they can get through this tough time together 💕. Patrick Mahomes II has been so open about how his dad's actions hurt him in the past, so I'm sure he wants to support his family right now 💪. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome in court 🤞!

I'm really worried about Patrick Mahomes Sr.'s latest arrest 🤕🚔. It seems like he's been in trouble before and now he's back in jail. What's going on? Is he getting the help he needs to stay sober? I feel bad for him, especially since his son is doing so well in football... it must be hard for Patrick Mahomes II to deal with this all over again 🤷‍♂️. His dad has been really vocal about how his actions affect him, but did that make any difference? Is he still drinking or was he just not taking care of himself? 😕

🤔 This is really concerning... I feel bad for Patrick Mahomes II. His dad's behavior is alarming and it raises questions about how stable their relationship is. Two years ago, his dad was sentenced to 5 years of probation for the same offense and now he's back in jail? It's like a pattern of poor decision-making. 🚨

I think it's great that Patrick Mahomes II spoke up earlier this year about his dad's behavior but we need more support from him now. As someone who's watching from the sidelines, it's hard to know what's really going on in their family. 🤷‍♂️ I just hope they get the help and resources they need to move forward.

I'm also thinking about how this might affect Patrick Mahomes II's life and career. Will his dad's behavior impact his relationships with others or his own mental health? It's a lot to take in, especially for someone who's already dealing with the pressures of being an NFL superstar 🏈

I'm really worried about Patrick Mahomes Sr.'s latest arrest 🤕💔. His dad has been through this before and was lucky enough to get a second chance with 5 years of probation, but now it seems like he's back in hot water ⚠️. I feel for Patrick Mahomes II, who is still young and trying to make a name for himself in the NFL 🏈. He deserves better than to have his dad's mistakes reflect on him. It's gonna be interesting to see how this all plays out and if Pat Mahomes Sr. gets another chance to turn his life around 🔄.

man this is crazy how Patrick mahomes sr got caught again I feel bad for him cuz he gotta deal with a probation violation but at the same time you can't just get drunk and drive w/ a ankle monitor 😂 it's like he knew he was being monitored lol anyway hope he gets the help he needs & that his son stays out of this stuff 👍

I'm kinda surprised that Mahomes Sr.'s latest arrest is getting so much attention 🤔. I mean, we all know that drunk driving is a serious issue, and it's good that he's facing consequences for it 😊. But at the same time, five years of probation is still pretty lenient, right? I'm not saying his dad deserves to get off scot-free or anything 🙅‍♂️. It just seems like the system could be a bit more strict in cases like this. And what's with all the secrecy surrounding Mahomes II's reactions to his dad's latest arrest? He seemed pretty down-to-earth about it last year... now he's just radio silence 🗣️.

I'm really worried about Patrick Mahomes Sr., you know? He's been in trouble before and it's a huge relief that his son is doing so well in the NFL. I feel bad for Pat Sr. because it seems like he's stuck between being a cool dad and not wanting to mess up his kid's life. It's tough when you're trying to be supportive but also setting a good example. I'm sure Patrick Mahomes II loves him, but at the same time, he must want what's best for himself too. Fingers crossed that Pat Sr. gets the help he needs and doesn't mess up again... 🤞

ugh man.. patrick mahomes' dad goes back to jail 🤕🚔 i feel bad for the guy but at the same time... it's been two years since his last arrest and you'd think he'd get help or something. five years of probation is a long time, and now that's being threatened? it's like he's stuck in this cycle 🔄

and mahomes ii just sits back and does his thing while his dad deals with this stuff 🤷‍♂️ i know he said it was a family matter last year, but come on.. don't you have to say anything now? it's not fair to his dad or the fans who are worried about him 😕

i just hope mahomes sr. gets some proper help and doesn't end up back in jail again 🤞

ugh, this is so messy 🤦‍♂️... like, i get that people make mistakes and all, but patrick mahomes sr's latest arrest is super concerning 😬. two years ago, he was arrested for dwi too, and now this? it feels like a pattern of behavior 📈. what if he's not taking his probation seriously enough? or what if the tests are wrong? 🤔 either way, i'm just worried about patrick mahomes ii - he seems like such a great kid, but dealing with this stuff can't be easy for him 😞. gotta keep an eye on things and hope everything works out 💯

Ugh, this is getting old 🤯... Like, how many times can one person get drunk and drive? I mean, I know we've all made mistakes before, but this dude's got a lot of 'em under his belt already 😩. And the thing that really gets me is that he was on probation, like, what even is that if not a clear indication that you need to watch yourself? 🤦‍♂️ I feel bad for Patrick Mahomes II, his dad's antics are gonna be tough to deal with, especially when it comes to his NFL career and all the scrutiny that comes with it 💼. He already had to put up with "it's a family matter" nonsense last year... like, come on, dude, we care about you too 🤝.

Ugh, another celeb's dad getting pinched for DUI... 🤦‍♂️ Like, can't they just get their lives together? Poor Patrick Mahomes II is already dealing with the pressure of being a superstar athlete and now he's gotta worry about his old man getting behind bars? Not exactly the kind of public image you want to associate with your family. And what's up with the ankle monitor thingy? It seems like it's just collecting dust and not doing its job, if you ask me... 🤔

OMG, this is just great... like, what's next? His kid gets a DUI and suddenly all the tabloids start digging up dirt on him too 🤦‍♂️ I mean, come on, Patrick Mahomes II is trying to focus on his career while his dad is messing around with booze again. It's like, super unfair to him. And what really gets me is how he handled it last time... just saying "it's a family matter" and shutting down the convo. Like, what does that even mean? Did someone threaten him or something? 🤔 I'm all for keeping the fam private, but this is just weirdo territory...

The news about Patrick Mahomes Sr.'s latest arrest has got everyone talking 🤔. I mean, you gotta feel bad for the guy, but at the same time, it's like, his son is a multi-millionaire NFL quarterback and he can't even get himself together to be sober while driving 😕.

It's crazy that this isn't the first time he's been in trouble with the law over DWI. Five years of probation just wasn't enough for him, apparently 🤷‍♂️. And now, he's facing five more years if he gets caught violating his probation again. I mean, can you imagine having to deal with that kind of stress and scrutiny? It's no wonder his son doesn't want to talk about it too much.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's not just Patrick Mahomes Sr.'s problem anymore. His son is the one who has to live with this stuff in the public eye 💔. I hope they get him the help he needs and that he can turn his life around for good 🤞. The NFL and its fans deserve better than to see someone struggling like this 🏈💕.

🤔 This whole thing stinks 🚮. Not just because Patrick Sr. got arrested, but also how it's all being handled. It seems like Mahomes II is too busy being the NFL superstar to care about his dad's well-being. Five years of probation for a DWI offense that was later disputed by two urine tests? That's some lax law enforcement 🙄. And now he's in jail again, potentially missing out on his daughter's life because of it 😔. The family matters thing just doesn't cut it anymore 👎.
