Pete Alonso projected to sign blockbuster 5-year, $150M deal with NL club

the mets are gonna lose alonso? that would be a major bummer for them 😔. they've got to do something to keep him from walking away, 'cause he's basically the face of the team right now 🤩. and $150 million is insane, even if it's only 5 years. the mets have shown they're willing to spend big before, but not on someone like alonso... or at least that's what they said last winter lol. anyway, i think they'll try to sign him, maybe with a sweet deal 🤑. and if they don't? well, it's gonna be a tough season for them ⚾️.

🤔 I mean, come on... people are hating on Pete Alonso already? He's an amazing player and deserves to be rewarded with a big contract. $150 million for 5 years isn't that bad, especially considering he's been carrying the Mets' offense single-handedly for years. And what's wrong with the Mets wanting to spend big on him? They should be trying to build a contender, not just break even. Alonso is worth every penny and if they can get him to stay, I think they'll be just fine. Let's give Pete a chance to prove himself again! 💪

idk why the mets r so slow to offer alonso a contract 🤷‍♂️ they gotta step up if they wanna compete in the nl. 150 million for 5 years is nothing compared to what other teams are willing to pay. and whats with deferring payment? doesn't sound like a real offer to me 💸 also, i think 30 mil per year seems low considering guerrero jr just signed for 35. the mets need to up their game if they wanna keep alonso 🤔

I don't get why people are so obsessed with baseball contracts these days 🤷‍♂️. $150 million for 5 years is just crazy talk! I mean, what's next? A $500 million contract for a player who can barely throw a strike? 😂 It's not like Alonso is some kind of superhero or anything. He's a good player, but so are there plenty of other guys in the league.

And what's with the Mets being "desperate" to keep him? They're already spending a ton of money on players, do they really need to break the bank again? 🤑 It just seems like they're trying to fill a void instead of making smart, strategic moves. And if they can't get Alonso to stay, then maybe it's time to start rebuilding from scratch. I'm not saying it'll be easy, but come on, teams make tough decisions all the time. Let's see how this plays out... 🤔
