Man, I'm feeling so nostalgic right now
... Phil Upchurch was more than just a guitarist and composer to me - he was like a master weaver who brought magic to some of the biggest names in music
. Can you believe all those iconic tracks he worked on? "I'm Every Woman", "Workin' Day and Night", "Six to Four" (that George Benson tune is still fire
)... it's wild thinking about how many legendary albums and soundtracks he contributed to
.
And the fact that he was working on an autobiography at the time of his passing? What a legacy! It's crazy that he'll be missed, but his music will keep living on
. I'm curious to check out those two books he published - maybe it's time for some Upchurch revelations
.
