Philly's waterways are polluted by billions of gallons of sewage each year, report finds

Man 🤯 I don't think Philly's water issues are that bad tho... like, sure, it's no good for swimming or whatever, but we gotta consider the bigger picture here. Our city is growing, and with growth comes more infrastructure needs, you feel? They're trying to upgrade the system, but it's not gonna be easy or cheap.

And let's be real, 60% of our city is already on a combined sewer system... that's like, a lot of pressure on the pipes, right? It's not like they can just magically fix everything overnight. And as for the rates thing, yeah, that's true, but maybe we should think about it in terms of investing in our future instead of just shelling out cash now.

Plus, what's the alternative? Letting waterways become completely unusable and harming our environment? I'm not saying it's not a problem, but let's try to find some common ground here...

Ugh, I remember when I was a kid, my friends and I would play in the creek behind our house all day long without worrying about getting sick or anything 🤕. Now it seems like Philly's waterways are basically undrinkable. 12.7 billion gallons of raw sewage every year? That's insane! I mean, what were they thinking back then when these systems were built? 🙄 We're still using the same old infrastructure, just with more people and pollution now. It's just not right. And it's not like we can blame the city for this one, it's a global problem. Climate change is making things worse too... it feels like we're living in a scene from a sci-fi movie 🚀

🤔 I'm so sick of these fads that everyone gets caught up in... "Save our rivers" is just another buzzword 🌊 These Philly waterways are literally choking on sewage every year and nobody's doing anything about it 🚽 12 billion gallons?! That's wild, fam. It's not like we haven't been warned about climate change for years now ⛈️ and yet here we are, still dumping toxic waste into our waterways 💦 And don't even get me started on the infrastructure upgrades... "we can't afford it"... excuse me while I ask what all that money is being spent on 🤑

man 12.7 billion gallons of sewage is crazy like that's not only bad for humans but also fish 🐟😷 my friends in philly are always complaining about the water quality and now it makes sense why they can't even swim or boat in some areas 195 days a year is insane what's gonna happen when climate change hits harder?? 💦🌪️

😡 This is just insane! 12.7 billion gallons of raw sewage every year?! That's like pouring out all the city's pools into the river and expecting it not to make a mess 🌊. And they're still saying it's not that bad? I mean, come on, Philly residents have to deal with this crap their whole lives... it's time for some real change 🚧. The fact that industrial users are contributing so much pollution is just crazy 💸. We need more infrastructure upgrades and a ban on these combined sewer systems ASAP 🕒️. It's not like it's gonna break the bank, it's just basic human decency 💖. 195 days of unusable waterways? That's just ridiculous 😴. Can't they see that this is a health crisis too? And what about all those poor fish and wildlife who are suffering because of our mess? 🐟😔
