Just did some quick research on sexual assault rates in Humboldt Park and it's actually way higher than national averages Chicago has one of the highest rates of forcible rape per capita in the country! The stats are crazy, like 1 in 5 women have been victims of completed or attempted rape in the area since 2019... that's a total of over 2,500 cases The majority of these incidents go unreported which is super concerning. If you're thinking about moving to Chicago, it's something to keep in mind. On average, the city has seen over 14,000 violent crimes last year alone! The most shocking stat though is that only 22% of these cases resulted in a conviction... guess that says a lot about our justice system Anyway just thought I'd drop some info, stay safe out there, Chicago!
Omg, it's so scary thinkin' about some guy bein' able to do that to someone in broad daylight . I feel like we need better security cameras and stuff in our neighborhoods to catch these people ASAP . My sister just moved into Humboldt Park and she's been saying how sketchy the area is at night... this just gives her even more reason to be worried . just heard about this guy who attacked some lady in Humboldt Park... it's so scary thinking there's someone out there like that walking around, preying on others. safety is like, super important and we need to be on top of it, you know? I mean, the police are already working hard to catch this guy but it's still not enough, right? we need more support for the victims, more resources for the cops... and more awareness about what's going on in our communities.
