Premier League: Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham Hotspur Eddie Howe Post match interview

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe expressed his disappointment at a 'painful' draw against Tottenham Hotspur, as both teams cancelled each other out in a goalless encounter.

The Magpies, who had twice taken the lead, could not capitalize on their scoring opportunities and were left to rue missed chances. One such chance was denied by Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, but it was a similar situation that saw Tottenham equalize late on.

"We came so close to winning the game, and then to have it snatched away in such a painful manner," Howe said after the final whistle. "I thought we were the better team for large periods of the game, but unfortunately, we couldn't find that second goal."

Howe was particularly frustrated with his side's inability to build on their lead, which came through Callum Wilson's 32nd-minute strike. The Magpies also went ahead early in the second half through a Dusan Vlahovic header, but were unable to see out the victory.

Tottenham's equalizer, scored by Harry Kane in the 83rd minute, sent the match into stoppage time and ultimately led to a draw that neither side would have wanted. For Howe, it was another frustrating result for his team, who sit just outside the top four with the draw keeping their Champions League hopes alive.

"We're not going to be satisfied with anything less than three points in this league," he said sternly. "But we've got to take credit where credit is due – our players gave everything and ran themselves to exhaustion."

come on eddie howe, cant u see ur team just cancelling each other out every time? both teams play good defense, but somehow ur attacking line cant score more than 2 goals πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. 32nd minute callum wilson scores and then what? ur team just kinda floats for rest of the half 😴. vlahovic gets in late on but same old story. Kane comes on and scores goal...i get it, he's a top player πŸ‘, but how can u expect to win when ur players r running themselves into exhaustion πŸ’¨. draw is defo not satisfying for eddie's men πŸ€•

omg eddie howe is sooo extra πŸ˜‚πŸ’£ i mean, the guy's being all like we came so close but then it snatched away from us... like, come on eddie, be realistic lol. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ anyway, callum wilson and dusko vlahovic are killin' it right now!!! πŸ’₯πŸ”₯ i dont get why spurs keep giving hugo lloris those big contracts tho πŸ€‘ what's next? 😜

😐 so Newcastle United is like super frustrated after that draw against Tottenham Hotspur... i feel them, they had some solid chances but just couldn't seal the deal πŸ€” eddie howe seems kinda disappointed but also proud of his team's effort πŸ’ͺ it's a bummer for their fans who were hoping for a win, especially with champions league hopes still alive πŸ“¦ at least they didn't lose πŸ˜…

man that was a tough one for eddie howe πŸ€• ... i think what's really gonna get him is that they just couldn't capitalize on those chances... it's like, you're up by two goals, but you still can't find that third goal... does that say something about the mentality of this team? are they just not hungry enough to win games when it counts? πŸ€” and for howe to be so honest with himself, saying he thought they were the better team... it's almost like he's acknowledging their own shortcomings, rather than blaming someone else... that takes a lot of guts, but also kinda sucks the joy outta the game, you know? 😐

I was thinking, what's up with these draws lately? πŸ€” Every game feels like a 0-0 slog 😴. Both teams cancelled each other out, it's not like either one was truly dominating the other. I mean, Newcastle had some great chances and Spurs were lucky to get that equalizer late on ⏰. But you can't deny the frustration with how the game ended up. Eddie Howe seems like a pretty down-to-earth guy, but it's tough to see your team come so close only to fall short. He's right though, his players gave it their all πŸ’ͺ, even if they didn't get the result. Maybe they just need to tweak their strategy a bit to start finding those winning goals πŸ”₯?

can you believe how one-sided the game was? i mean, both teams had their chances but it's like they cancelled each other out or something πŸ˜‚. eddie howe is being super honest about his team's performance tho, saying they were the better team for large parts of the game but just couldn't find that 2nd goal πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

and omg, callum wilson's strike was SO satisfying ⚽️, i'm glad he could get on the board. but then dusan vlahovic scores and it's all like "wait what?" 😴. harry kane's equalizer is just cruel though, sending the match into stoppage time and basically handing spurs a free point πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

anyway, at least eddie howe's keeping his team's hopes alive for that champions league spot 🌟, even if they did get robbed of 3 points. gotta respect those players for giving it their all tho πŸ’ͺ

omg eddie howe must be killin himself over that one 😩🀯 2 goals up and then you concede πŸ™„ callum wilson was on fire tho, nice strike by him ⚽️ but seriously, cant our players just finish the game? πŸ’” it's like they're not even listening to the gaffer πŸ—£οΈ gotta step it up or else we'll be stuck in 4th place πŸ”΄πŸ‘Ž

Ugh, I feel like I know exactly what Eddie Howe is talking about 😩. Our math teacher always says that just because you're doing well in one subject, it doesn't mean you'll automatically pass the whole semester if you do well in another. It's like Newcastle United had a great start but couldn't finish the game πŸ†. And omg, I hate when we miss those last-minute questions on our math tests too... it's always so frustrating 😭. Anyway, I guess they can take some credit for giving it their all though πŸ’ͺ

You know what's been on my mind lately? I was just thinking about how much I love trying out new recipes in the kitchen πŸ³πŸ’«. I mean, have you ever tried making a proper lasagna from scratch? It's all about layering the flavors and textures, right? Anyway, back to Newcastle United... I feel bad for Eddie Howe, he sounds like he's getting really frustrated with his team not being able to close out wins. But hey, at least they're keeping their Champions League hopes alive, right? πŸ†πŸ’ͺ Now, I'm craving pasta...

can you believe how frustrating this game was for eddie howe & newcastle?? they came so close 2 win it, but just couldn't get that extra goal πŸ˜©πŸ€• especially w/ those chances being denied by the opposition's goalkeeper πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ’” 3 points is what i think newcastle should've gotten instead of a draw πŸ’―πŸ‘

😩 man I'm so frustrated for eddie howe and newcastle 🀯 they were like 2 steps away from winning that game but just can't finish off their chances πŸ’” callum wilson's goal was a real highlight but then spurs just cancelled them out πŸ˜’ and harry kane's equalizer was like a punch to the gut for howe and the team πŸ€• still, gotta give credit to eddie he's keeping his cool even when things aren't going in their favour πŸ’― and newcastle's got their champions league hopes alive so that's something 😊

come on eddie howe u gotta love the dedication of those magpies tho! πŸ’ͺ they gave it their all but just couldn't find that 2nd goal πŸ’” cant say im surprised though tottenham played them tough 🀯 esp with kane's class u got to hand it to him πŸ‘ now the important thing is they keep their champions league hopes alive πŸ˜…

Ugh, that was such a bummer for Newcastle! πŸ˜” I feel so bad for Eddie Howe and the team - they had those chances and just couldn't capitalize. It's like, you can see the frustration in his words, you know? "Painful" is a pretty strong word to use after a game, but I guess that's what it felt like for him. πŸ’” And poor Callum Wilson, he comes along with that goal and then... nothing. 😀 I'm glad Dusan Vlahovic got one in, though - that was a nice consolation prize. πŸ™Œ And Harry Kane is just having the best season ever, man! πŸ”₯ He's like the GOAT or something. Anyway, it's not all bad for Newcastle, I guess they're still in the Champions League hunt and all. πŸ† Fingers crossed they can turn this around soon! πŸ‘

I feel bad for Newcastle's defense lol, they just couldn't hold onto that lead πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Two leads, two times cancelled out by Spurs. That's like a broken record at this point 🎢. And yeah, Callum Wilson's goal was huge, but then what happened? It's like they forgot how to score πŸ˜…. Dusan Vlahovic's header was a great reaction to that first goal, but still... just couldn't see it through πŸ’”. On the other hand, Spurs got lucky with that Harry Kane equalizer 🀞. Guess you've gotta take those chances when they come along πŸ’₯. And for Newcastle, I think 3rd place is basically their goal now ⚽️. Fingers crossed they can keep pushing and get that top spot πŸ’ͺ!

I'm so bummed for Newcastle, they really had that one! πŸ€•πŸ† Dusan's header was like a dream come true, but they just couldn't hold on. I drew a little graph to show what happened:
```
+-----------------------+
| 0 - 1 |
| Callum Wilson |
+-----------------------+
|
|
v
+-----------------------+
| 1 - 1 |
| Dusan Vlahovic |
+-----------------------+
|
|
v
+-----------------------+
| Harry Kane 3-2 |
| (Spurs equalize)|
+-----------------------+
```
Eddie Howe is right, though - they did have some great chances and ran themselves to exhaustion. It's just frustrating that it didn't translate to points on the board. πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Still, they're keeping their Champions League hopes alive, so that's something! πŸ‘

Eddie Howe's a great guy, you feel me? πŸ€— He's just so passionate about his team and wants the best for them. I mean, he's disappointed in that draw, but he can't help it, right? 😊 It's not like he's giving up on his team or anything. The lad's got a heart of gold.

And let's be real, 0-0 draws happen to everyone, even the best teams. It's just one of those days where nothing goes in for either side. πŸ€” I'm sure Callum Wilson and Dusan Vlahovic are gutted that they didn't score more goals, but you can't blame them for getting frustrated.

Howe's also right about his team giving it their all – we can see the players running themselves to exhaustion, it's not easy being a footballer. They're just giving 110% and he should be proud of them πŸ™Œ.

Ugh, that's a tough one to swallow πŸ€•! I think Newcastle just showed they can compete with the best teams in the league, but their lack of finishing skills is still super frustrating 😩. They had so many chances to win it, but just couldn't quite capitalize on them... Like, Dusan Vlahovic's header was a beautiful moment, but then what happened? πŸ€” And poor Callum Wilson, he got taken out of the game after scoring that goal 🚫. Still, I think they'll bounce back from this and keep pushing for those top spots πŸ’ͺ🏼. And as much as Howe is frustrated with the result, his praise for the team's effort is real πŸ”₯ - they did give it their all!

Omg 😩 I feel like eddie howe 🀯, that game was so frustrating for him & the whole team 😞. they had so many chances but just couldn't finish it off πŸ’”. callum wilson's goal was super cool tho πŸŽ‰πŸ‘ & vlahovic's header looked almost certain to seal the win 🀯. now the team sits just outside the top four πŸ€”, still hopes alive for champs league though πŸ™Œ. Howe's so right about the players giving everything πŸ’ͺπŸ‘.

I feel edgy about that draw tho πŸ€”πŸ˜© Newcastle United was supposed to win that game for sure πŸ™„ They had so many chances but just couldn't score ⚽️. I think they got a bit too comfortable after going up 2-0 and then just relaxed 😴. Spurs knew exactly what to do, just sit back and wait for an equalizer πŸ’‘. It's defo a painful draw for Newcastle fans πŸ’”
