"It's not enough to film or record," Alderman Byron Sigcho-Lopez said. "It is not enough to abolish ICE. We gotta prosecute, we gotta arrest these criminals terrorizing our communities."

I'm so tired of seeing these tragic incidents happen, it's like they're not even trying to follow protocol anymore. And what's with the Trump administration being all up in people's grills about enforcing immigration laws? Can't we just have a civilized conversation about this stuff? We need leaders who actually care about our communities and can put an end to these senseless killings. I'm so done with ICE, it's time for a change 
- I mean what's next? The FBI getting involved in neighborhood policing? It's time for real reform not just abolishment. We need better training and accountability for agents but also a more comprehensive approach to addressing immigration issues. Just because it's not the Trump admin doesn't mean we should ignore the problems that arose under their watch

Come on guys, let's not be too quick to abolish ICE just because there was a bad incident. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's super sad when anyone dies but we gotta look at the bigger picture here... 
We need some kinda system in place to deal with immigration issues or else we'll have open borders and chaos

but what's not dropping is the number of complaints against ICE agents! in 2022 alone, there were over 16,000 reported cases of abuse and misconduct by federal immigration authorities. 
. meanwhile, the number of asylum seekers at the US-Mexico border has been steadily increasing since 2018, with over 1 million people trying to cross into the country in 2022 alone. 
. We need some real change here, like the governor is saying, we can't just sit back and let this keep happening 
, but we also need politicians to take action, not just film it from their phones

i wonder if anyone's tried to talk to those agents before they do something like this... like, maybe there's a way to resolve things peacefully 
in the US, we need more than just abolishing agencies, we need comprehensive reform that addresses root issues like inequality, lack of affordable housing & job opportunities for marginalized communities 
it's not just about stopping ICE but creating a safe space for everyone to thrive
