Publicly owned intercity bus station offers dignity for travelers on tight budgets

🚌 The more I think about it, the more I'm like "duh" why didn't they do this sooner?! It's crazy to me that people have been complaining about having to transfer between stations or deal with private companies taking advantage of them. A public station would be a total game changer for low-income folks who just wanna get from point A to point B without breaking the bank 😂. Plus, it'd be awesome to see the city invest in their own infrastructure instead of always playing catch up on other projects 🤔. It's about time we prioritize making transportation accessible and affordable for everyone, especially those who need it most 💪.

🤔 This whole thing just hit me - what's the value we place on dignity? We're talking about $50 million for a bus station, but that's not the real question. Is it really just about saving money or is it about recognizing the humanity in our fellow travelers? I mean, those who are homeless, students, women seeking care... they're all just trying to get from point A to point B without losing their dignity in the process.

We need to ask ourselves why we have this system in place where people are forced to live on the fringes of society because of our choices. Is that really what we want? I don't think so. 🚗

Wow 😊 this is so interesting! Like, who knew that bus stations were such a big deal? And yeah, I mean $50 million sounds like a lot, but if it's gonna help people, you know? It's like, what's the point of having money if not to use it for good 🤑. And omg, homelessness rates are like, so sad 😔. We need more solutions like this, not justBand-Aid fixes 💉.
