Rangers 'want to hunt' in title race - Danny Rohl after Ibrox side go second

Rangers see title chase as a hunting trip, not a sprint. Manager Danny Rohl says his side want to be the "hunter" in the Scottish Premiership title race, always looking for ways to gain an advantage over their rivals.

The 3-0 win against Dundee has cut Hearts' lead at the top to just four points, and Rangers have moved into second place. Celtic's draw against the league leaders allowed them to hold onto first spot, but Rohl believes his side are now on a roll.

"We want to hunt," Rohl said after the game. "We want to be on the front foot. We're not just happy with getting three points by hook or by crook, we want to win games and make a statement."

Rohl's comments come after Rangers signed three players in January - Tochi Chukwuani, Andreas Skov Olsen, and Tuur Rommens - to add to their squad. While the final week of the transfer window is still to come, Rohl says his side will be looking for further signings if they can make good deals.

"It's possible," he said. "It's about timing. It's like dominoes. You have to wait sometimes, but if it's on and if there's a great opportunity then we'll try looking for more players to strengthen the squad."

Former Rangers player Rory Loy says Rohl is doing things the right way since taking charge in October. "You win games first," he said. "We need to keep winning when we're not playing all that well."

James Tavernier, who scored his 54th converted penalty for Rangers in their win over Dundee, said it was a "really proud moment" to reach the century of league goals. The right-back has enjoyed great success with Rangers, including promotion and Premiership title glory.

But despite the highs, there have been disappointments too - often finishing runners-up to Celtic in domestic tournaments. However, Tavernier is confident that his side can maintain their consistency and win the title.

"It's down to us to keep going," he said. "Keep really working hard, putting in the performances but ultimately getting that win."

I'm getting a vibe from this that it feels like we're back to Rangers being the dominant force in Scottish football 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Reminds me of the good ol' days under Gers legend, Steven Gerrard... those were some thrilling times! 😊 Now they're saying they want to be "the hunter", always on the prowl for that next win. I love it! The squad's been getting stronger with those new signings too. Tochi Chukwuani, Andreas Skov Olsen, and Tuur Rommens... sounds like a solid addition to my book πŸ“š. The only thing I'm worried about is if they can keep the momentum going? Fingers crossed, mate! ⛔️

πŸ€” I feel like Rangers are playing with fire πŸ’₯, they're so focused on winning and taking control of the game that it's almost like a different team out there πŸ†. Danny Rohl's strategy is definitely paying off, and it's great to see Tochi Chukwuani, Andreas Skov Olsen, and Tuur Rommens settling in quickly πŸ‘.

I'm loving James Tavernier's positivity πŸ’ͺ, it's infectious! He's always been a top player for the club, and his goal count is insane 🀯. The fact that he's reaching 100 league goals shows just how consistent Rangers have been over the years πŸ”.

One thing that might worry me is the transfer window though ⏰. With just a week left to go, it's going to be tough for them to make some big signings πŸ€‘. But if they can find someone who fills a gap and makes us even stronger, then I'll be all for it πŸ’₯. Bring on the second half of the season! πŸ“†

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ I'm loving the mentality of Rangers right now! 🀩 They're not just focusing on taking the lead, they want to be the ones doing the chasing down and catching their rivals off guard. It's a whole new level of determination and hunger for wins. The squad additions are looking promising too - Tochi Chukwuani, Andreas Skov Olsen, and Tuur Rommens could definitely make a difference in the coming weeks.

I also love James Tavernier's attitude πŸ™Œ he's always been a leader on the pitch and his confidence is infectious! 🀝 The fact that they can win games even when they're not playing their best shows how strong the team is. We'll be keeping an eye on this title chase πŸ‘€

πŸ€” The thing is, I'm not sure if Rangers are actually on a roll or just being optimistic πŸ˜…. Four points is a decent gap, and they'll need to keep winning to catch up with Hearts. Also, how many times do you have to score 54 converted penalties before it's considered good luck? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Meanwhile, I'm not sure about these "great opportunities" for further signings – when are those going to happen? January was just the first week of the transfer window, and now they want to wait for dominoes to fall? πŸ•°οΈ

I'm loving this new vibe Rangers are taking to the pitch 🎯πŸ”₯ They're not just focusing on closing the gap, they're setting their sights on being the ones doing the chasing! It's all about confidence and a winning mentality. Danny Rohl seems to be hitting the nail on the head with his "hunter" approach. Those signings in January were smart moves, and I'm excited to see what else he can bring in. Rangers have got some top talent already, and it'll be interesting to see how they gel together. The fans are loving it too - I was at the Dundee game last week and the atmosphere was electric! πŸŽ‰πŸ’₯

πŸ€” man i think rangers got this right kinda like what my uncle told me about football its all about patience n timing u dont just rush into things u gotta wait for the right moment 2 make a move πŸ‘€ rohl seems 2 know wot he's doing alright hes not 1 2 panic or get distracted by other teams drama πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ i mean celts might b leadin but rangers got some solid players now like rommens n skov Olsen and they're lookin good 2 take on the title race πŸ”₯ what do u think about this? 😊

idk if rangers really think they're hunting for the title or if it's just a clever marketing ploy lol 🀣 they've had some decent signings this jan, but can they actually make them work together? and what about their squad depth? i mean, tochi chukwuani and anders skov olsen are nice additions, but tuur rommens is pretty unknown. need to see more of them playing before i get hyped πŸ€”

man... Rangers are on fire πŸ’₯ now they're seein' this whole season as a hunt rather than just tryna catch Celtic 🏹 those signings they made in january were def key moves πŸ” tuur rommens is lookin like a solid addition to the squad 🀞 but seriously tho, rangers need 2 keep grindin πŸ”„ if they wanna take down the champs

man, rangers are all about the hunt now 🎯 they've got a great squad and the manager is on point, always looking for ways to edge out their rivals. i love how rory loy said they need to keep winning even when they're not playing that well, because that's what separates the good teams from the ones who just show up. james tavernier's 100th league goal is huge and it shows he's still got game 🏟️ but at the end of the day, the title chase is all about consistency and making smart signings. fingers crossed for rangers to finally bring home that premiership trophy πŸ˜…

πŸ™Œ I'm loving how Rangers are taking a chill approach to the title chase 🏹️. Not getting too stressed about winning or losing, just focusing on being the "hunter" πŸ”. It's all about timing and waiting for the right opportunities ⏰. They've already got some solid signings lined up and Rohl knows when to pounce 🎯. The fact that they're not just happy with 3 points but want to make a statement says it all πŸ’₯. It'll be interesting to see how they maintain their consistency and keep pushing Celtic πŸ”΄βš½οΈ. Bring on the rest of the season! πŸ˜„

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole Rangers thing πŸ€”. I mean, they're not just chasing a title, they actually want to be the ones doing the hunting πŸ˜…. Like, who doesn't love a good underdog story? Danny Rohl's got this "we want to win games and make a statement" vibe going on, which is pretty cool. He's also all about timing and waiting for those dominoes to fall into place, which makes sense.

It's interesting that former player Rory Loy is saying he's doing things the right way... but what does that even mean? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Is it just a figure of speech or what? Anyway, I'm loving James Tavernier's confidence - 100 league goals and counting! That guy's a legend. Still, you can't deny the fact that Rangers are making some big moves with their signings. We'll have to keep an eye on this title chase πŸ†

OMG, Rangers are on fire πŸ”₯πŸ”΄! Danny Rohl's strategy is so clever - wanting to be the "hunter" and not just chase after Celtic all the time πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ. With those new signings, Tochi Chukwuani, Andreas Skov Olsen, and Tuur Rommens, I think they're gonna be super tough for Hearts and everyone else πŸ’ͺ.

I'm loving how James Tavernier is embracing the moment - 100 league goals? πŸ’₯ That's insane! And Rory Loy's advice about winning games first is so on point 🀝. It's all about consistency now, and if Rangers can keep that up, they'll be champions for sure πŸ‘!

OMG u guys i am literally SOOOO hyped for rangers rn they're not just content with being 2nd anymore they wanna be THE HUNTERS on this title chase its like danny rolh is saying we want to be the ones doing the chasing not just getting chased lol what's next they gonna start hunting for more signings if they can get good deals i feel rory loy's comments tho he's been saying rolh is doin it right since october and james tavernier's confidence in them winning the title is EVERYTHING i mean celtic's still on top but rangers are GAINING ground fast can't wait to see what happens next!!

πŸ€” Rangers are definitely looking at this season as a marathon not a sprint... πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ They're all about building momentum and waiting for the right moment to strike, like dominoes falling into place. It's a solid strategy, especially with the squad they've signed so far 🀝 Tochi Chukwuani, Andreas Skov Olsen, and Tuur Rommens are gonna give them some nice depth. And James Tavernier is always a goal-scoring machine πŸ”₯ Still gotta see how consistent they can be, but if they keep that winning feeling going, who knows? 🀞

πŸ€” I mean, think about it, a hunting trip isn't just about chasing something, it's also about being patient, waiting for the right moment to strike πŸ•°οΈ. Rangers are taking a similar approach to the title chase, they're not rushing into things, they're looking for ways to gain an advantage over Hearts and Celtic πŸ’‘. And I think that's what makes their 3-0 win over Dundee so impressive, it shows they're thinking ahead, they know how to build momentum πŸ”₯. It's not just about winning games, it's about being consistent, putting in the performances when you're not playing your best ⚽️. And I think that's what sets Rangers apart from their rivals, they've got a mindset that says they can win titles πŸ†.
