I mean, come on, a 43-year-old dude gets caught driving drunk with a 3-yr-old in the car... like what is going on? You'd think one DWI charge wouldn't be enough to sink in, but nope, here he is again, and it's gonna cost him big time. And get this, his probation didn't even stop him from getting behind the wheel drunk again... that's just not right. The DA is saying that probation isn't doing its job and that Orellana needs tougher consequences to stay off the drink. I'm all for keeping our roads safe, but do we really need to punish people more to get through to them? Or should we be looking at how we're structuring our laws to prevent these kinds of situations in the first place?
Ugh I cant even... how does someone like that not learn from their mistakes? I mean, yeah, it sounds super obvious but apparently he just kept flouting the rules and putting himself & others at risk Like what's next, driving drunk with a bunch of kids in the car?!?! And honestly, I think the "probation can be beneficial" thing is kinda whack If someone's already proven they're gonna do it despite having a chance to change... should we really give them more chances?
I'm so frustrated with this case . Like, how many chances do we need to give people who keep getting caught driving drunk? This guy had two previous charges and was already on probation... it's just not fair to the rest of us who follow the rules . And a three-year-old in the car?! That's just unacceptable. Can't we please pass stricter laws around ride-sharing and other alternatives that would make it way harder for people like this guy to get behind the wheel drunk?
