Remembering John Beam: Former players and students honor legendary coach in Oakland

😔 I'm so sad to hear about Coach John Beam's passing... 20 years at Laney College is no joke 🤯 He had such a profound impact on the lives of his students & community. The outpouring of love & support from Oakland is beautiful ❤️, but it's also heartbreaking knowing he won't be there to see the Memorial Walk & Tribute on Dec 10 or the celebration of life in Jan 🕰️. It's crazy how much of a difference one person can make... Coach Beam was more than just an educator, he was a mentor, a friend, a confidant... his legacy will definitely live on 💖.

Ugh, I'm so sad about this 🤕... I mean, Coach John Beam was an amazing dude and all, but can we talk about how convenient it is that he's just "tragically gunned down on campus"? Like, what are the chances? And 20 years of shaping young minds in one place? Sounds a bit too good to be true. Still, I guess his legacy will live on, which is great 🙏. The Oakland community coming together to celebrate him is super heartwarming ❤️, and it's awesome that the library is collecting tributes for his family. But, like, let's not gloss over the fact that he was murdered on school grounds... still a bit unsettling 😕. Anyway, Memorial Walk and Tribute in December sounds like a great way to honor his memory, and I'm sure it'll be an emotional celebration 🎉. January 10 is also looking promising, fingers crossed everything comes together nicely 🤞.
