Removing CO2 from atmosphere vital to avoid catastrophic tipping points, leading scientist says

I THINK IT'S TIME WE TAKE CARBON CAPTURE SERIOUSLY!!! ๐Ÿ‘€ 10 BILLION TONNES OF CO2 REMOVAL EVERY YEAR IS A LOT, BUT I GUESS WE CAN'T JUST SIT BACK AND WAIT FOR THE WORST TO HAPPEN. direct air capture might be expensive, but at least it's a start. AND YEAH, GROWING FORESTS MIGHT BE CHEAPEST, BUT IT'S NOT LIKE WE CAN JUST LEAVE SOME PART OF OUR LAND WILDFLAMES EVERYWHERE ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’จ. we need to find that balance between saving the planet and having food on our plates. AND I'M GLAD TO SEE THE US ISN'T HINDERING PROGRESS ON THIS CLIMATE THING, EVEN IF THEY DID WITHDRAW FROM THE PARIS AGREEMENT EARLIER. COB30 PRESIDENCY SEEMS LIKE A GOOD START, FINGER CROSSED IT ACTUALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE ๐Ÿ˜…

OMG can you even imagine having to remove 10 billion tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere every year ๐Ÿ’ฅ it's like trying to hold back a tidal wave on its own ๐ŸŒŠ and with those prices for direct air capture, i mean over $200 per tonne that's just insane ๐Ÿ’ธ how do we even afford this?! and yeah, growing forests is cheap but at what cost? land use and all that ๐ŸŒณ the stakes are seriously high though if we don't prevent these tipping points we're toast ๐Ÿ”ฅ extreme droughts, firestorms... it's a nightmare scenario ๐Ÿ˜จ so fingers crossed Cop30 takes this seriously and makes some real changes because time is literally running out โฐ

I'm low-key worried about this whole CO2 removal thing ๐Ÿค”... I mean, 10 billion tonnes a year is just insane! It feels like we're talking about a war effort here ๐Ÿ’ธ. And that cost? Forget about it! It's like they're asking us to give up our entire GDP to save the planet ๐ŸŒŽ.

But you know what's even crazier? The fact that we still haven't figured out how to make direct air capture cheap enough for this to be feasible ๐Ÿ˜…. I mean, have we thought about how we'd pay for it all? It's like we're just going to print more money and hope nobody notices ๐Ÿค‘.

And don't even get me started on the land use aspect ๐ŸŒณ... I get it, forests are our best bet, but what about food security? What about preserving biodiversity? We need a comprehensive plan here that considers all the stakeholders ๐Ÿค. This feels like a classic case of "we're gonna solve climate change if it kills us" ๐Ÿ’€.

But you know who's on board with this? The UN and world leaders ๐Ÿ‘ฅ... they're all like "oh, we're so committed to saving the planet!" ๐ŸŒŸ. Meanwhile, I'm over here thinking "y'all better be prepared for some serious economic disruption" ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. This is gonna be a wild ride...

๐Ÿ˜ฑ can't believe we're even talking about this kinda crazy stuff. 10 billion tonnes of CO2 removal every year? it's like trying to hold back the oceans from rising or something ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’ง. and the cost? trillions of dollars? that's just insane ๐Ÿ’ธ. i mean, what's next? gotta pay for air to breathe too ๐Ÿ˜‚. growing forests is a good option but it's not like we can just plant trees everywhere and make it work ๐ŸŒณ. and these tipping points... ocean currents collapsing? devastating climate change consequences? no thanks ๐Ÿšซ. can't we just slow down the train or something instead of trying to pull it back from the edge? ๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿ˜ฉ

I'm getting worried about our planet ๐ŸŒŽ. These scientists are right, we gotta take action ASAP or we'll be in big trouble. I mean, think about it, removing all that CO2 from the air, it's like trying to hold back a massive ocean wave with a broken reed ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. It's gonna cost a lot, but what choice do we have? I've seen some of my friends who own farms struggling to make ends meet because of the droughts and heatwaves. We can't just sit around and wait for someone else to fix it. Every little bit counts, whether it's using public transport or switching to renewable energy at home ๐Ÿ’ก. The good news is that there are still plenty of people working hard on this stuff, like Johan Rockstrรถm, trying to find solutions. Fingers crossed that Cop30 can make some real progress ๐Ÿคž.
