Renee Good's former father-in-law says she was a 'great person' and he prays for his grandson

Renee Good's former father-in-law has spoken out about the late Renee Good, describing her as a "great person" who was always positive in his presence. He expressed shock at the incident involving an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer that resulted in Good's death, saying he had never known her to be an activist.

Macklin Sr., a preacher in Knoxville, remembered Good fondly, recalling their visits with his grandson about twice a year. The elder Macklin was particularly close to Good, remembering how she was "gentle" and patient with his six-year-old grandson.

He acknowledged that he doesn't agree with the actions taken by ICE on that day, but emphasized trust in God and submission to authorities as essential values. However, he did express sympathy for Renee's partner and their three children, including her six-year-old son who had lost his father just a few years ago.

Macklin's heartbreak over Good's death is compounded by concerns about the well-being of her young grandson, whom he wants to be raised into the Lord. As he continues to grapple with the loss, Macklin Sr. has become an advocate for prayer and support, stating "I'm praying every day" as he seeks solace.

His sentiments echo those of Renee Good's partner, who recently expressed her determination to teach their young son that there are people working towards a better world, while also acknowledging the pain and fear inflicted by the individuals responsible for Good's death.

๐Ÿค• this whole thing is just so sad ๐Ÿ˜” i mean, i know the guy who knew renee is trying to find solace in his faith but it's not going to bring back her ๐ŸŒŸ and honestly, who can blame renee for wanting to be an activist? ๐ŸŒŽ she was fighting for a cause, you know? ๐Ÿ’ช it's just that her methods might have been misjudged by law enforcement... or whoever did whatever they did ๐Ÿ˜ณ anyway, my heart goes out to her partner and their kids - losing a parent is tough enough, let alone having to deal with the justice system too ๐Ÿค•

๐Ÿ™ I feel so sorry for Macklin Sr. & Renee's family... it's just heartbreaking to hear about Renee's passing & how her last moments were with someone from ICE... can you imagine? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ As a retiree, I've seen my fair share of injustices, but this one just hits home. The kid who lost his dad is only six years old, what does the future hold for him now? ๐Ÿค• It's great that Macklin Sr.'s family is coming together & finding ways to cope... prayer & support can be powerful tools in times like these โค๏ธ

man I'm still trying to process what happened to renee good... it's like she was just walking down this road of life and BAM!ICE officer does her in ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ’”. I mean, i've seen some crazy stuff online but this is on a whole different level. the fact that her former father-in-law is speaking out about how she was always so positive and gentle... it's like a bittersweet reminder of what could have been. and now her young son is dealing with the loss of his dad too? ๐Ÿค• my heart just goes out to him and his fam. i'm definitely praying for them every day as well ๐Ÿ™. it's crazy how one moment can change everything...

๐Ÿค• I'm so sorry to hear about Renee Good's tragic passing ๐Ÿ˜ข. The fact that an ICE officer was involved is just heartbreaking ๐Ÿคฏ. Macklin Sr.'s comments about trusting in God and submission to authorities are understandable, but it's also clear that he's struggling with the morality of what happened. ๐Ÿค” As a community, we need to come together to support Renee's partner and their kids, especially her young son who lost his dad just a few years ago ๐Ÿ˜ญ. It's so important to teach our children about kindness, compassion, and acceptance - that's how we create a better world for everyone ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’–. I'm definitely donating to organizations that support immigrant families and advocate for police reform ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ. We need to hold our authorities accountable and make sure that justice is served ๐Ÿค.

๐Ÿ’” I'm so heartbroken about Renee Good's passing ๐ŸŒน it's just not right that someone with such love in her heart got caught up in something so senseless ๐Ÿ˜ฉ ICE officer involved or not, this kind of incident should never happen to anyone ๐Ÿคฏ Macklin Sr. might be struggling to understand what happened, but his kid needs a support system too - we need more than just prayer & trust in authorities ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿค• THIS IS SUCH A SAD STORY!!! I MEAN, WHO LOVES A GOOD PERSON LIKE RENEE GOOD TO DEATH?! IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT THAT SHE GOT TAKEN FROM US LIKE THIS... AND THOSE ICE OFFICERS SHOULD REALLY BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT THEY DID! ๐Ÿš” BUT YEAH, IT'S ALSO GREAT TO SEE PEOPLE LIKE MACKLIN SR. COMING FORWARD WITH LOVE AND SUPPORT FOR RENEE'S FAMILY - ESPECIALLY HER SON WHO'S STILL REELING FROM LOSING HIS DAD JUST A FEW YEARS AGO... THAT KID COULDN'T BE LUCKIER TO HAVE SUCH AN AMAZING GRANDFATHER IN HIS LIFE! ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ˜” This is so sad... I feel bad for Renee's family, especially her little six-year-old boy who has already lost his dad ๐Ÿ˜ญ. It's heartbreaking to think about what he must be going through right now ๐Ÿค•. The fact that Macklin Sr. is trying to find ways to cope with the loss by praying and advocating for prayer and support is really beautiful โค๏ธ. But at the same time, it's so frustrating that things like this happen and there are still people who don't get it ๐Ÿ™„...ICE should have some accountability for their actions! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ Anyway, I hope Renee's partner can find comfort in knowing they're not alone ๐Ÿ’• and that there are people out there who care ๐ŸŒŽ.

I'm just really sad about what happened to Renee Good... I don't know if it was intentional or not but I think her family should get some kind of justice ๐Ÿค•. It's just so unfair that she had to go through something like this and especially with the kid being only 6 years old, poor little guy is going to have a tough time ๐Ÿ’”. And yeah, Macklin Sr.'s comments about trust in God are valid but I think he should also be thinking about how his words could affect Renee's family ๐Ÿ‘ฅ.

I'm still reeling from this senseless tragedy. The fact that an ICE officer was involved in Renee's death is just unacceptable ๐Ÿคฌ. I get that we should respect our authorities, but this kind of aggressive policing is not what we need. Macklin Sr.'s comments about trust in God and submission to authorities are understandable, but let's not forget that faith doesn't excuse violence ๐Ÿ’”. It's time for us to rethink our relationship with law enforcement and make sure everyone feels safe, especially those in vulnerable communities ๐Ÿค. We should be supporting Renee's partner and their kids, not just offering prayers ๐Ÿ˜•. We need concrete action and change, not just sympathy.

OMG I'm still in shock about what happened to Renee Good ๐Ÿ˜ฑ she seemed like such an amazing person and now this...ICE officer thingy is just crazy ๐Ÿคฏ I mean, I've been following this story and it just gets more and more messed up with Macklin Sr saying he never knew her to be an activist but then again his grandson's 6yo son lost his dad like 2 yrs ago so you feel for him fam ๐Ÿ˜” anyway Macklin Sr wants his grandson to grow up in the Lord which is cool but I'm more worried about Renee's kids ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ they're gonna need a lot of support right now and it's not just them, their community too...anyway I'm definitely keeping prayer vibes for them 24/7 ๐Ÿ’–

I'm so sad about Renee's passing ๐Ÿ˜” it's just not right that she had to go through that at ICE's hands... I can only imagine how hurtful it must be for her partner and their kids, especially that little 6-year-old who lost his dad too soon ๐Ÿ‘ง. I don't think we're supposed to blame Renee's family for what happened, but it's clear she was a good person who just wanted to do the right thing ๐Ÿค. Macklin Sr.'s sentiments are really touching, though - prayer and support can be so powerful in healing ๐Ÿ’†โ€โ™€๏ธ. I love that her partner is determined to teach their son about kindness and hope for a better world โค๏ธ, even in the face of such tragedy...

๐Ÿค” This whole situation is really making me think about how we should respond when faced with injustice or cruelty... like, if someone you care about gets hurt by someone in power, it's easy to just give up or lose hope. But I think Macklin Sr.'s story shows us that even when we're hurting, we can choose to hold on to our values and seek comfort in something bigger than ourselves. For him, that's faith - but for Renee's partner, it's something more about creating a better world for their kids... it's all about how we respond to pain and fear with hope and determination. ๐ŸŒŸ

can't believe what happened to renee good ๐Ÿ˜ฑ her ex-dad-in-law is speaking out now and it's crazy that he never knew she was into activism... but what's even crazier is that his church values trust in god and submission to authorities, yet they're still questioning how ice handled the situation ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

anyway, renee's partner is doing a great job raising their 3 kids, including that poor little 6-year-old who lost his dad just a few years ago ๐Ÿ‘ฆ it's heartbreaking thinking about what they must be going through right now... and yeah, prayer and support are always important, but sometimes you need to take action too ๐Ÿ™

I FEEL SO BAD FOR RENEร‰ AND HER FAMILY!!! IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT THAT SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENED TO SUCH A KIND HEARTED PERSON. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW HARD IT MUST BE FOR THEM TO DEAL WITH ALL OF THIS, ESPECIALLY WITH THE LITTLE BOY WHO LOST HIS DAD YESTERDAY ๐Ÿ˜”. I HOPE MACKLIN SR.'S PRAYING AND TRYING TO SUPPORT RENEร‰'S PARTNER AND CHILDREN BRINGS THEM SOME COMFORT ๐Ÿ™. IT'S PRETTY CLEAR THAT RENEร‰ WASNT JUST A PASSIVE PERSON, SHE WAS OUT THERE MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN PEOPLE'S LIVES! I JUST WISH MORE PEOPLE COULD SEE HER SIDE OF THINGS ๐Ÿค•.

I'm really saddened to hear about Renee Good's passing ๐Ÿค•. It's crazy how an interaction with an ICE officer can have such devastating consequences. I mean, who expects that kind of reaction from a law enforcement officer? Macklin Sr.'s comments on trust in God and submission to authorities are totally understandable, but you can't deny the hurt and pain that this incident has caused his family, especially Renee's young son ๐Ÿ˜”.

It's great that Renee's partner is taking steps to protect their children from the trauma they've experienced, and it's awesome that Macklin Sr. is stepping up to offer support and a listening ear ๐Ÿ‘Œ. The fact that he's becoming an advocate for prayer and support shows that even in the midst of tragedy, we can find ways to come together and support each other ๐Ÿ’•. My thoughts are with Renee's family and loved ones during this tough time ๐Ÿ™.

OMG, this is so sad!!! ๐Ÿค• I cant even imagine losing ur loved one & then finding out they wasnt even known 4 bein activist ๐Ÿ˜”. Its so unfair that Renee got taken away from her fam & young lil boy at such a young age. I feel bad 4 Macklin Sr's heartbreak, especially when he thinks about his grandson growin up without a dad ๐Ÿค•. But its awesome that hes tryna stay positive & focus on prayer & support ๐Ÿ™. And I love how Renees partner is teachin their lil boy 2 be strong & fight 4 change ๐Ÿ’ช. Hope Macklin Sr finds peace soon ๐Ÿ™

ICE is outta control ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ’”. A 6-yr-old kid lost his dad, now what? The idea of trust in God & submission to authorities seems weak when it comes to basic human rights ๐Ÿ˜’. Macklin Sr.'s got a point about prayer & support but that's not enough, they need real action ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ˜”๐ŸŒŸ oh man I'm thinking about Renee Good nonstop this is just heartbreaking ๐Ÿค• she sounded like an amazing person to me always spreading positivity wherever she went her partner and kids are in my thoughts too ๐Ÿ’• I can imagine how hard it must be for them losing a parent and now facing this trauma with their little one having lost his dad too ๐Ÿ˜ญ as for the ICE situation I don't know what to say but I do know we gotta come together as a community to support each other and raise awareness about these issues ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’ช

man, this is so sad ๐Ÿ˜”... i feel bad for Macklin Sr., he's clearly hurting over Renee's passing, but it's even harder knowing her little grandson has to deal with all this too ๐Ÿค•... and that ICE incident is just wild, no one should have to go through what she did ๐Ÿ’ฅ... but you've gotta respect Macklin Sr.'s faith, it's his way of coping, even if it doesn't align with everyone's views ๐Ÿ‘Œ... and I'm glad he's speaking out about the importance of prayer and support for those in need ๐Ÿ™, that's something we can all get behind ๐Ÿ’–.
