Republican declares second "civil war" has started in US

A US Senator has sparked alarm over what he claims is an already unfolding "second civil war" in the country, as lawmakers struggled to pass a mid-decade redistricting bill backed by former President Donald Trump.

Senator Mike Gaskill, a Republican from Indiana, stated unequivocally that the Second American Civil War has begun. According to him, opponents of the redistricting effort are using "surrogates" - a thinly veiled criticism aimed at those who oppose Trump's influence on state politics. The senator's assertion was met with skepticism by his colleagues.

The proposed redistricting bill, which would have altered electoral district boundaries in Indiana, ultimately fell short of the required votes after being rejected by the Senate by a narrow margin of 19-31. The move comes as tensions between Trump supporters and opponents remain high.

Gaskill's comments on Thursday brought to light concerns that the situation is spiraling out of control, with some warning of an impending "civil war" that could engulf the US.

🤔 I'm not sure if this is just a case of someone blowing things way outta proportion or if there's actually something brewing under the surface 🚨. A second civil war? That's quite a dramatic statement, don't you think 😕? It's like Mike Gaskill is trying to whip up some panic to get his point across, rather than having a calm and rational discussion about the redistricting bill 🤷‍♂️.

And let's be real, the fact that it's Trump-backed doesn't necessarily mean it's going to lead to a full-blown civil war 💥. It's just another example of politics as usual 🙄. Gaskill is trying to turn the tables on his opponents by accusing them of being Trump surrogates 👊, but I think he's just trying to deflect from the fact that his own party is struggling to pass the bill 🤦‍♂️.

All in all, I'd say this whole thing is a bit of a storm in a tea cup ☕️. We need to take a step back, calm down, and have a rational discussion about what's really going on here 💡.

omg this guy gaskill is lowkey crazy 🤯! i mean idk if he really thinks a second american civil war is already happening but like come on 19 votes short? that's not even close to a majority, you'd think they could get it together better than that. and what's with the 'surrogates' thing tho? sounds like he's trying to deflect from his own party's problems 🤔. anyway, i'm kinda worried about this whole situation tbh... seems like some ppl are getting pretty heated and it's only gonna get worse if they can't figure out a way to work together 💔

Wow 🤯, this guy Gaskill is really taking it up a notch! I mean, who uses the term "Second American Civil War" to describe a heated debate in Congress? That's like, totally over-the-top! Interesting 😬, though - it does show how divided politics can get.

I don't get why Senator Gaskill would say a Second American Civil War has started like, when has it? 🤔 Is he serious or just trying to stir up drama? I mean, I've seen heated debates on social media and stuff but I didn't think we were at that point yet. 📱

What's with this whole redistricting thingy? Is it really worth causing such a fuss? Can't they just, like, agree on some boundaries or something? 😕 And what's with Trump's influence on state politics? Is he really that powerful? 🤑

I'm kinda worried about this whole thing 🤔. I mean, a second civil war? That sounds super dramatic and scary. Hasn't we been through enough already? It's easy to get caught up in politics and think things are more intense than they really are. And what exactly does Gaskill mean by "surrogates"? Is he saying that people who disagree with Trump are just using others to speak for them? It seems kinda vague to me... 🤷‍♂️

🤯 I don't think he's being serious about a full-blown civil war... like, what's next? 🙄 The guy just seems really invested in this redistricting bill and his party is getting roasted for it 😂. Trump supporters are already super polarized, but a second civil war? That's just hyperbole at this point 💁‍♀️. I get that tensions are high, but we've seen some crazy stuff in politics before... let's not jump to conclusions just yet 🤔.
