Retro handheld maker Anbernic has a new gamepad with a screen and heart rate sensor

Anbernic, a retro handheld game console manufacturer, has unveiled its latest innovation - a controller with a built-in screen and heart rate sensor. The RG G01, as it's called, boasts a 2.5-inch HD display that allows users to customize settings without needing a connected device.

The display is intended to make customization "intuitive and effortless," although one can't help but wonder if this is more of a novelty than a practical solution. The screen is also equipped with a heart rate sensor, which the company claims will help monitor well-being during intense gaming sessions. However, it's worth noting that gamers with pre-existing heart conditions might want to reconsider using a gamepad as their primary tool for monitoring their pulse.

The controller supports Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, and wired connections, and features onboard calibration for the triggers, joystick, and gyroscope. It also includes four programmable buttons on the backside, complete with macro support. Anbernic promises a 1,000Hz polling rate in both wired and wireless modes, making it compatible with PC, Switch, Android, and iOS devices.

While we don't have a confirmed release date or price for the RG G01 yet, potential buyers can get a glimpse of its features through the launch video available online. For those who appreciate the unusual and are willing to take a chance on Anbernic's latest offering, this controller might just be the strange but fascinating addition to their gaming setup they've been waiting for.

idk about this new Anbernic thing ๐Ÿค”... built-in screen and heart rate sensor? it sounds like more hype than practicality to me. i mean, who needs a screen on their controller, right? and how often are gamers really gonna be using that feature? plus, what if the heart rate sensor actually does something, like track your stress levels or whatever ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ... that's kinda cool, but also super creepy. i'm not sure if this is gonna revolutionize gaming or just be a novelty for die-hard retro gamers ๐Ÿ˜’

I'm intrigued by these new controller features ๐Ÿค”! I mean, having a built-in screen is cool, but can you imagine playing Mario Kart and adjusting your speed without even touching another device? That's some crazy tech right there. And the heart rate sensor thingy sounds like it could be useful, especially for all those Fortnite pros who get super hyped during matches... just gotta make sure they don't have any health issues ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. I'm not sure about this being a 'novelty' but I'll definitely keep an eye out when it comes out!

I'm so down for this new RG G01 thingy! ๐Ÿคฉ I mean, having a built-in screen is defo cool, and being able to tweak settings without needing my phone is a total game-changer (no pun intended). But at the same time, I can see how it might be kinda gimmicky... like, do we really need a controller with a heart rate sensor? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Still, if it helps me get in the zone during intense gaming sessions, that's all good by me! And 1,000Hz polling rate is crazy fast โ€“ can't wait to see how this thing performs. Anbernic's definitely pushing the boundaries of what we expect from a controller, and I'm here for it! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

OMG I'm literally SO hyped about this new controller from Anbernic ๐Ÿคฏ! The idea of having a built-in screen and heart rate sensor sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, right? ๐Ÿ’ป But seriously, can you imagine being able to check your high score or customize settings without needing to put down your game for even a second? It's like the future is now ๐ŸŽฎ!

And I love that they're targeting gamers with pre-existing heart conditions too - it's about time we see some tech companies prioritize accessibility and safety. ๐Ÿ’– But at the same time, I'm also kinda curious if this is just gonna be one of those things where people will only use it to show off on Instagram ๐Ÿ˜‚. Either way, I'm def checking this out when it drops! ๐Ÿ‘€

omg I'm low-key obsessed with the new RG G01 controller ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘€ the built-in screen is such a cool feature and it makes sense that they included it, especially for people who are always glued to their screens anyway lol. I love how customizable it is too! ๐Ÿ’ก the heart rate sensor is a bit weird but I get what Anbernic is going for - it's all about the gaming experience ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ and making it more immersive? ๐Ÿค” can't wait to see if it lives up to the hype ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I think it's kinda cool that Anbernic added a screen to their controller ๐Ÿค”, I mean, who wouldn't want to change settings without needing another device? But at the same time, I can see how this might just be more of a gimmick than something practical... like, do we really need a heart rate sensor in a gamepad? ๐Ÿ˜… Still, if it's going to help people track their well-being during gaming marathons, that's a pretty cool feature ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And the fact that they're making it compatible with so many devices is a plus! ๐Ÿ‘

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ, I'm low-key impressed with this new controller! The built-in screen is like, so cool ๐Ÿ˜Ž, and it's actually pretty convenient having those customizable settings right on your gamepad. But, idk... might be a bit gimmicky? Is it really that intuitive or just a novelty? ๐Ÿ’ญ And, um, I hope Anbernic didn't think about the health implications of using a controller to monitor heart rates ๐Ÿค•. That's some major red flag stuff right there ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. Still, if you're into retro gaming and want to try something new, this might be worth checking out!

I'm really intrigued by Anbernic's new controller! ๐Ÿค” The idea of having a built-in screen is kinda cool, especially if it makes customization easier. But at the same time, I can see how it might be more gimmicky than useful for most gamers ๐Ÿ˜. And that heart rate sensor thing? That's just wild... like, what's next? A controller that monitors your blood pressure during long gaming sessions? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

But hey, as a gamer who's always looking for ways to upgrade their experience, I'm definitely curious about this new tech. The fact that it supports so many different devices is a big plus โ€“ I'd love to try out how it works with my Switch and PC. Anbernic needs to drop some pricing info soon though... ยฃ200 for a controller with a built-in screen? That's steep, even for a niche market like retro gaming enthusiasts ๐Ÿค‘

๐Ÿค” I'm not sure about the built-in screen thing... sounds kinda gimmicky to me ๐Ÿ˜…. Don't get me wrong, it's cool that you can customize settings without needing a separate device, but is it really worth the extra cost? Like, how often do gamers actually need to tweak their settings mid-game? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ On the other hand, I do love that it has a heart rate sensor... could be pretty useful for competitive players who want to stay focused ๐Ÿ˜Ž. And four programmable buttons on the back is a nice touch ๐Ÿ”„. Not sure about the 1,000Hz polling rate though... does that even make a difference in real life? ๐Ÿ’€

I'm low-key obsessed with the new RG G01 by Anbernic ๐Ÿคฏ! Having a built-in screen is like, totally game-changing (no pun intended) and I can already imagine myself tweaking all my settings in-game without needing to switch devices or leave my seat ๐Ÿ“Š. The heart rate sensor feature is also kinda cool, but at the same time, I'm like "is this really necessary?" ๐Ÿ˜‚. What's wild is how seamless it seems to work with all those different platforms โ€“ PC, Switch, iOS, Android... that's some next-level tech right there ๐Ÿš€. Can't wait to get my hands on one and see if it lives up to the hype! ๐Ÿ‘

omg I'm like totally hyped about this new controller from Anbernic!!! having a built-in screen is like, so cool! I can already imagine myself customizing my game settings without even needing my phone or laptop ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ป but at the same time, I'm kinda thinking it's more of a gimmick than something that's gonna make a huge difference in my gaming experience lol. and wow, a heart rate sensor? that's like, whoa! I can see how that could be helpful for some people, but what about those with pre-existing conditions tho? ๐Ÿค• still, the fact that it supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi is like, a major plus in my book! ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ’ธ

omg can you imagine playing fortnite with a heartbeat counter?? ๐Ÿ˜‚ like what is this going to do for your gaming experience? ๐Ÿค” i mean its cool that it tracks ur heart rate and all but id rather focus on beating noobs than measuring my pulse lol. still, if u r into retro games like me, this new controller looks pretty sick! ๐Ÿ‘

I'm lowkey intrigued by this new controller from Anbernic ๐Ÿค”. I mean, who wouldn't want a built-in screen that lets them tweak settings without needing to hop on another device? It's like having a mini PC in your hands! ๐Ÿ’ป But at the same time, I can see how it might be more gimmicky than practical โ€“ what if you just wanna zone out and play some retro games for hours on end, eh? ๐Ÿ˜ด Still, if I'm being honest, the idea of tracking my heart rate during intense gaming sessions kinda has me thinking...

omg u guys i just saw this new gamepad from anbernic and it has a built in screen ๐Ÿคฏ like what even is that lol its supposed to make customization easy or whatever but honestly idk if its more of a gimmick than anything else the heart rate sensor thing sounds kinda cool tho maybe for some people who are into that sorta thing i mean i dont wanna be responsible for someone having a heart attack from gaming ๐Ÿ˜… anyway its def a weird and interesting controller so idk wut to expect from it in terms of price or release date

๐Ÿค” Hmm, an in-built screen and heart rate sensor? I'm intrigued, but also kinda skeptical about the practicality of it all. I mean, how often am I gonna need to check my heart rate mid-game? ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ It's a novelty for sure, but is that really worth the extra cost and tech bloat? Also, isn't this just encouraging people to play games for longer periods, which can be bad for your health in the long run? Not saying it's all bad, but let's see how this plays out before we get too excited. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿค” I gotta say, this new controller from Anbernic is kinda trippy... like, who needs a built-in screen, right? It's just gonna attract hackers and noobs trying to find exploits ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ’ป. And that heart rate sensor? Yeah, it's probably for tracking our gaming habits so corporations can sell us more games ๐Ÿค‘. Don't even get me started on the 1,000Hz polling rate โ€“ what's next, a built-in chip for monitoring our every move? ๐Ÿค–

๐Ÿค” I gotta say, a built-in screen and heart rate sensor in a game controller sounds like a super cool idea... but is it really practical? I mean, wouldn't it just add extra bulk and weight to the thing? And what's next? A built-in oxygen monitor? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ But at the same time, if it does help gamers stay more focused during intense gaming sessions, that could be a game-changer (no pun intended). I'd love to see some reviews from actual gamers before making any judgments about this thing. How's Anbernic going to keep the price point reasonable without overdoing it with all these fancy features? ๐Ÿค”

idk about this new rg g01 from anbernic ๐Ÿค” i mean its got some sick features like the built-in screen and heart rate sensor, but is it really worth the hype? i dont know how many ppl actually need a screen on their controller lol its just gonna be some gamers who are all about that retro life and wanna show off their gaming setup to their mates ๐Ÿค–. also, i gotta say, the idea of monitoring ur heartbeat during intense gaming sessions sounds kinda sketchy, esp for ppl with pre-existing heart conditions ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. dont get me wrong, its a nice try by anbernic, but ill be keeping an eye on the price point before makin any decisions ๐Ÿค‘.
