Rockets Open Season With League’s Best Offense

The Houston Rockets kicked off their season with a vengeance, demolishing three top-tier teams in the process. After starting 0-2, they rebounded with a 3-0 week, showcasing the league's best offense to date. The team's explosive scoring and dominant rebounding set them apart from the competition.

Tari Eason was back to his productive ways, scoring 22 points on 8/12 shooting in their win over Brooklyn. Meanwhile, Kevin Durant led the way with 31 and 26 points against Toronto and Boston, respectively. Newcomer Josh Okogie started at center in place of Steven Adams, who had been used as part of a double big lineup.

As the Rockets prepare for their next three games, they'll face off against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, followed by a trip to Memphis to take on a beleaguered Grizzlies team. In Houston's favor is that top prospect Cooper Flagg will make his debut, while the Mavericks are shorthanded due to injuries.

The highly anticipated showdown against the Spurs on Friday pits Houston's size against superstar big man Victor Wembanyama. The Rockets had success against Wembanyama last season, with Alperen Sengun scoring 45 points in a single game. However, critics will be eager to see if Houston can contain Wembanyama's dominant presence.

What's truly remarkable is the Rockets' offense, which boasts the league's highest rating of 126.5. Despite starting point guard Fred VanVleet being lost for the season due to injury, the team has thrived without him. They lead the league in three-point percentage at 41.2% and have found ways to exploit opponents on the glass.

The question now is whether Houston's offense will be enough to sustain their current level of success throughout the season. With the playoffs looming closer, general manager Rafael Stone may not need to make a trade for a starting point guard after all.

man that's crazy how far they've come from being 0-2... i mean it's great that they can bounce back like this 🤩 but at the same time you gotta wonder if this is just a flash in the pan, will they be able to keep up their scoring and rebounding with injuries looming and the playoffs around the corner? 🤔

man i'm loving this rockets season so far! 🚀 their offense is straight fire, you know? i mean 126.5 rating is crazy. and tari eason coming out of nowhere like that is wild. kevin durant's numbers are always insane too. but what really impresses me is how they're adapting without fred vanvleet. getting josh okogie to start at center has been a smart move, i think.

and now they get to play cooper flagg, who's supposed to be this next big thing. and the matchup against victor wembanyama on friday? that's gonna be epic! 🤯 i'm excited to see if they can contain him and still come out on top. overall, the rockets are definitely one of my top teams to watch this season 😁

omg i'm literally so hyped about the rockets this season!!! 1-2 start was insane but they came back strong and now they're dominating the league 🤯 their offense is straight fire, especially that 41.2% three-point percentage is crazy 🔥 tari eason is on a roll too 👍 kevin durant leading the way is no surprise tho 💪 cooper flagg's debut can't come soon enough 🎉 and let's be real, the matchup against wembanyama is gonna be EPIC 😲

🤔 The Rockets' winning streak is dope, but let's see how they do when injuries start piling up 🤕. They're already having to play some young blood like Josh Okogie at center... fingers crossed he can keep up 😅. On the bright side, a strong offense is hard to ignore 💥. But, it's gonna be tough for them to sustain that level of production without their point guard. The playoffs are coming and they'll need to make sure they're not relying on one or two players too much ⏰.

🤔 I'm telling you, this is all too good to be true! The Rockets are dominating without that point guard, VanVleet? That's like saying I didn't see the COVID-19 pandemic coming 🌪️. They're still racking up those points and shooting like crazy, but how long will it last? The NBA is full of surprises, and I wouldn't put it past them to tank games or make some shady trades to boost their chances in the playoffs 💸.

And don't even get me started on this Cooper Flagg kid 🤯. I mean, he's a top prospect, but what's his real motive? Is he just here for the love of basketball, or is there something more to it? Maybe he's being groomed for greatness by Rafael Stone himself 🤑.

This whole thing feels like a setup for some major plot twist. Mark my words, something big is coming out of Houston, and it's not going to be pretty 😏.

I'm loving this new era of the Rockets! 🚀 The way they're dominating games and showing off that explosive offense is incredible. I mean, it's not just about individual performances like Tari Eason's 22 points or Kevin Durant's 31 and 26 points - it's how they're all working together to create scoring opportunities. And let's be real, their ability to dominate the glass on both ends of the court is key.

But what really gets me excited is the potential for Cooper Flagg to make a big impact this season 🤩. As a top prospect, I'm sure he'll bring some fresh energy to the team and help take it to the next level. And with the Mavericks being shorthanded due to injuries, Houston's got a great opportunity to pick up a win.

Of course, against the Spurs on Friday, it's going to be tough to contain Victor Wembanyama 🤯. But I think their size and athleticism will give them a good shot. The question is, can they sustain this level of performance throughout the season? That's what I'll be keeping an eye on. Will they continue to thrive without Fred VanVleet or start to show some signs of fatigue?

😂 I'm loving how the Rockets are proving everyone wrong with that 3-0 week! They totally deserved it after coming back from those 0-2 starts 🙌 Their offense is insane, 126.5 rating? That's some crazy numbers 🔥 I think they're for real this season. Can't wait to see Cooper Flagg make his debut and how the team will match up against Wembanyama on Friday... that's gonna be a battle 💪. Also, can someone explain why Josh Okogie was starting at center? 😂 did Adams get benched or what?

Ugh, I'm still trying to process how good the Rockets are this season 🤯. I mean, 3-0 is crazy, especially after they were 0-2, but it just goes to show that they're really putting in some work behind the scenes. But let's not get too excited here... their offense is actually kind of worrying because what if they can't sustain this level of success all season? I mean, have you seen Fred VanVleet's injury news 🤕? That's like, a big blow to an already explosive team. And don't even get me started on the playoffs - that's when things start to fall apart for teams with offenses as reliant on one player (VanVleet) as they are. But hey, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out... not holding my breath though 😒

I'm loving how the Rockets have bounced back from that rough start 🤩! Tari Eason and KD are on fire 🔥, and Josh Okogie's centering gig is looking pretty promising 😎. The way they're exploiting opponents on the glass is a major key to their success 💪. Now, I'm intrigued by this matchup against Wembanyama - can Houston contain that dominant big man? 🤔 And seriously, 126.5 rating for their offense is nuts 📊! But with Fred VanVleet out, do they need to make a trade for a point guard? Maybe not 🙅‍♂️... I think they're good to roll without him 💥.

idk about this team being that dominant tho 🤔 they got some crazy good scorers but what's gonna happen when they gotta play someone who can actually shut down those guys? like the mavs are shorthanded right now but that's just gonna make it easier for houston to get exposed. and yeah cooper flagg is hyped but he's still a rookie 🙅‍♂️ we need to see him do something crazy before i start believing in this team's hype

I'm loving how the Rockets are killing it this season 🤯! Their offense is straight fire and I think they've got a real shot at making some noise in the playoffs. But you know what would take them over the top? A solid defense 🚫. They're giving up way too many points, especially on the glass. Still, with Flagg making his debut and that dominant frontcourt duo of Durant & Sengun, I think they can keep it up for a bit. And honestly, who knows, maybe they don't need another point guard anyway? They've got their offense locked down and if they can find ways to defend, they're unstoppable 🔥!

omg u gotta love tari eason rn he's been on fire 🔥! 22 points on 8/12 shooting is no joke 🤯 i'm hyped for the matchup against dallas tho, their defense is super weak and cooper flagg is gonna smash it 😅. but seriously tho, the rockets offense is straight flames 💣 with a rating of 126.5 and leading the league in 3pt percentage at 41.2% 🤯 they need to keep that momentum going or else it's gonna be a long season for them 📉

man they're killin it right now 🤯 the Rockets are lookin like a legit contender with that offense tho 126.5 is crazy high! and tari eason comin back strong 👍 but y'know what's even crazier, their rebounding is on point too 🔄 they're dominating in that department which makes 'em a tough matchup for anyone. now it's just about sustainin this level of play, injuries can sneak up on ya so hopefully they stay healthy and we get to see more of this magic 💫

omg i cant believe how well the rockets are doing this season 🤯 they really have that explosive scoring going on and its so cool to see tari eason get back into form after his last couple of games were rough 🙏 kevin durant is looking like his old self too, 31 and 26 points against toronto and boston? 🤯 i love how the team has been able to adapt without fred vanvleet though, that 41.2% three-point percentage is insane 🔥

I think this is gonna be a wild ride for the Rockets. They're on fire right now and it's crazy how well they've adapted without VanVleet. 126.5 rating? That's insane! Flagg's debut is also super hyped, can't wait to see him shine. And let's be real, Wembanyama is a beast, but I'm still thinking the Rockets have this one in the bag. The offense is just too potent 🚀💪

omg I'm loving this season so far 😍💥 the rockets are on fire 🔥 and tari eason is back in form 🙌🏽 31pts from kevin durant against toronto was insane 🤯 and cooper flagg's debut can't come soon enough 🎉 but seriously, their offense is something special 126.5 rating and all that 💪 they're definitely giving the playoffs a good shot 🔴👊

man i was thinking they were gonna blow up big time this season and its cool to see them playing so well so far 🤩 the thing is tho their offense is crazy good but can they keep it up? they gotta deal with some tough games coming up against teams like Dallas and Memphis, and then that showdown against Spurs vs wembanyama... that's gonna be a big test for em 😅 i mean its great to see players like durant and eason doing well, but the question is can they keep winning without their starting point guard?

I'm loving this season so far and how it's playing out! The Rockets are definitely proving that they're more than just a one-hit wonder 💥. I think what's really impressive is how they've adapted without VanVleet - their depth is looking real strong 🤝. But, you know how it goes... too good to last? 🤔 Will this offense keep up the pace or will they start to slow down as the season wears on? My kid's got a friend whose dad plays in a rec league and he's been following them all season - he says their speed is unmatched ⚡️. Can't wait to see how this all unfolds! 🤞
