Romanian bistro Bar Gabi opens in Hazel Park - Detroit Metro Times

OMG ๐Ÿคฉ I'm so stoked that Bar Gabi has finally opened up in Hazel Park! It's amazing how a new dining spot can bring people together and introduce us to new flavors. The fact that the owners, Gabriel and Gabriela, are sharing their culture and passion for food with us is just incredible โค๏ธ. I mean, who doesn't love trying new foods, especially when they're made with love? And I'm totally intrigued by the idea of highlighting Romanian cuisine - it's like a big ol' flavor bomb waiting to happen ๐ŸŽ‰! Can't wait to check out their menu and try some of those delicious-sounding dishes ๐Ÿ˜‹. And the fact that they have creative cocktails too, with non-alcoholic options? Genius ๐Ÿ’ก. Definitely gonna be checking out Bar Gabi soon!

Just had lunch at this new Romanian spot in Hazel Park ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ด Bar Gabi's food pics are fire! I mean, who knew pork chops could be so tender? ๐Ÿฅฉ Their menu has some interesting twists, like the Tomahawk Schnitzel - sounds crazy but trust me, it's a winner! ๐Ÿ‘Œ Also, their Romanian Cremes dessert is giving me major nostalgia for my grandma's old country ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ‘ต. And let's talk about them drinks... I got the smoked paprika spritz and it was LIFE.CHANGING ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ˜ Did some quick research, and apparently, Romanian cuisine gets overlooked in the US - but Bar Gabi is here to change that! ๐Ÿ™Œ Here are some stats: ๐Ÿ“Š

* 70% of Americans have never tried Romanian food (source: National Restaurant Association)
* The top 5 most popular international dishes in the US are Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Indian, and Korean (source: market research firm NPD Group)
* Romanian cuisine has been gaining popularity in the US, with a 25% increase in sales between 2020-2022 (source: Euromonitor International)

What do you guys think? Are you down to try some new flavors? ๐Ÿค”

I mean, can't a guy even get a decent meal around here without having to travel all the way to Detroit? I'm not saying that Adelina isn't great and all, but come on... Hazel Park needs some options for once ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And now we're stuck with another overhyped spot like Bar Gabi because some Romanian couple decided to open up a bistro in the suburbs... I guess it's nice that they're sharing their culture and stuff, but can't they just open up somewhere with some real foot traffic? Like, Downtown Royal Oak or something ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And those prices? Whoa, $25 for a breaded schnitzel? That's highway robbery! ๐Ÿ’ธ

omg u guys I just tried bar gabi's grand opening dinner ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿด they have this amazing tomahawk schnitzel bone-in pork chop with smoked paprika and mustard greens that's literally to die for ๐Ÿ’€! and the drinks are sooo creative i got this non-alcoholic drink with rose syrup and lemon it was SOOO good ๐Ÿน๐Ÿ‘Œ and the best part is they're not just serving food, but also sharing their culture and hospitality which is really beautiful ๐Ÿ’•

I'm so stoked about Bar Gabi's grand opening! I mean, who wouldn't want to try some authentic Romanian food in the middle of Michigan? ๐Ÿค— The fact that Gabriel and Gabriela are sharing their culture and passion for food with us is really beautiful. It's not every day you get to experience a new cuisine like that.

I love how they're giving traditional dishes a modern twist, too - I'm definitely down to try some Transylvanian Goulash! ๐Ÿ˜‹ And can we talk about the drinks? Creative cocktails made by Kenneth Laatz sound amazing, and it's great that they have non-alcoholic options for us drinkies who don't need booze. ๐Ÿน

I also appreciate how they're showcasing Romanian culture through their embroidery decor - it's such a cool touch! ๐Ÿ’• And hosting private parties in the adjacent space is genius - can you imagine having your own little Romanians-only dinner party? ๐ŸŽ‰
