I mean, can't believe how many talented people like Dr Hershman are out there! The fact that his art and surgery skills are so intertwined just blows my mind. It's like, he's always been thinking outside the box in both professions, you know? And I love how he puts it – healthcare is actually a form of art, where every interaction can be beautiful or ugly depending on how you approach it. For me, that's what makes him so inspiring!
omg u guys i just read about this doc dr don hershman & his dual career as a surgeon & artist i'm dying how he says that operating & creating r like mirror images of each other i mean, precision & focus in surgery + attention to detail + empathy for patients = same stuff as being an artist also i love that he mentions identity & privilege - it's so true that we gotta treat everyone w/ the same respect regardless of background or anything anyway, i'm totally low-key inspired to try my hand at art now
I mean, can you relate? This doc's passion for both surgery and art just gets me... I get it about finding that flow state where everything else fades away . It's like he's tapping into this deeper sense of empathy and understanding – yeah, healthcare is definitely the privilege of being human . But at the same time, I wish we could take some of those creative lessons from art and apply them to other areas... like politics?
