See ‘Star Wars’ legend react to Acosta’s Darth Vader impression | CNN Business

Mark Hamill, the actor who played the iconic role of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, has expressed his thoughts on a potential spinoff series centered around his character. The conversation took place with Jim Acosta, a CNN journalist.

Hamill was seen wearing Darth Vader's helmet and an "Acosta" t-shirt to make a humorous impression of his rival, Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi. Acosta couldn't resist the opportunity to poke fun at him, calling him out on social media for making himself look like Darth Vader.

In their conversation, Hamill discussed his thoughts on a potential Luke Skywalker spinoff series. He expressed skepticism about the idea, stating that he's not sure if the character would work well in a solo setting. However, he also acknowledged the potential benefits of exploring new stories and characters within the Star Wars universe.

Hamill also shared some behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the filming of The Empire Strikes Back, providing insight into his experiences working on the iconic film. He joked about his time as Luke Skywalker, saying that it's been a wild ride and that he never thought he'd be making fun of himself for looking like Darth Vader all these years.

The conversation was light-hearted and humorous, with both Hamill and Acosta engaging in good-natured banter. The video has sparked interest among Star Wars fans, who are eager to see what the future holds for Luke Skywalker and his role within the franchise.

I think it's kinda cool that Mark Hamill is still poking fun at himself like this. I mean, he played the iconic hero, but now he's joking about looking like a villain in Darth Vader's helmet. It's all in good fun and shows how down-to-earth he is.

As for the potential Luke Skywalker spinoff series, I think it's worth exploring new stories and characters within the Star Wars universe. However, I can see why Mark Hamill might be skeptical about Luke as a solo character. He's already had an epic journey with the original trilogy, so it might be hard to top that.

I'm curious to see what kind of story they'd come up with, though. Maybe something where Luke gets to explore different aspects of his Jedi training or confront new challenges. It could be interesting to see how the character evolves in a solo setting.

Overall, I think this conversation is just a fun reminder that even iconic characters can have a sense of humor about themselves. 🤣👽

Omg, I'm low-key hyped about a potential Luke Skywalker spinoff 🤩! I mean, it's not every day you get to explore more of that iconic character's story, right? But at the same time, I can see why Mark Hamill is skeptical - the dude has been playing Luke for decades, and it's hard to imagine anyone else bringing him to life. Still, I think it'd be awesome to see what kind of new adventures Luke would have outside of being part of the main cast 🚀💫. And btw, that Darth Vader helmet and Acosta tee combo had me dead 😂👽. The Empire Strikes Back is still one of my fave films in the whole Star Wars saga - can we get a remake or something? 😜

omg I'm so confused about this news lol why would they even make a spinoff series just about luke skywalker tho he's basically already got like 2 whole movies dedicated to him idk how that'd work... but at the same time i can see where they're coming from maybe it could be interesting if they got some new characters and stories involved? and omg mark hamill is hilarious 🤣 his jokes about looking like darth vader made me laugh so hard 😂 i hope whatever they come up with is actually good tho...

I gotta say, a Luke Skywalker spinoff series sounds like a solid idea! I mean, can you imagine a character that iconic in a solo show? It's not like it's gonna be hard to get some decent actors interested 🤣. And honestly, if anyone can make it work, it's Mark Hamill - he's already proven his comedic chops in those memes 😂. Plus, who wouldn't want to see more of Obi-Wan Kenobi getting roasted by Jim Acosta? That guy's got the skills! I'm so down for this, bring on the Luke Skywalker revival 💥!

🤔 I think it's kinda funny that Mark Hamill is poking fun at himself like that... I mean, he was just wearing Darth Vader's helmet and an 'Acosta' t-shirt, no big deal! 🤣 But seriously, a Luke Skywalker spinoff series? It's got its pros and cons. On one hand, it could be cool to explore some new stories within the Star Wars universe. But on the other hand, I think the character of Luke is pretty iconic and might not work as well in a solo setting... especially if you consider how much his character evolved throughout the original trilogy. Still, I'm intrigued by the idea and would love to see what kind of direction the creators take it in 🎥

I'm not sure if a Luke Skywalker spinoff series is going to work but it'd be cool to see more stories about Obi-Wan's time on Coruscant 🤔. Mark Hamill seems open to exploring new ideas, which is great for the Star Wars universe. I love how he poked fun at himself in that Darth Vader getup – it's a funny meme now 😂. The Empire Strikes Back was an iconic film and it's awesome that he shared some behind-the-scenes stories about filming it. Can't wait to see what other surprises the future holds for Luke Skywalker! 👽

I'm surprised that Mark Hamill is being so open about not wanting a Luke Skywalker spinoff 🤔😮 Interesting how he's still making fun of himself even after all these years! His behind-the-scenes stories from The Empire Strikes Back are giving me some serious nostalgia vibes 💥👏 I don't know if a solo Luke series would work, but I'm all for exploring more of the Star Wars universe 🚀👍

I'm low-key surprised he's not totally on board with a solo Luke series 🤔. I mean, it would be kinda cool to explore some of the older characters and their backstories, but at the same time, you gotta wonder if it'd work as well without the iconic dynamic between Luke and the other rebels 👊. Still, Mark's always been pretty down-to-earth about his experiences in Star Wars, so I trust his judgment 💯. And honestly? That Darth Vader helmet is a solid meme 😂! Can't wait to see what Disney comes up with next 🚀

😂👽 I gotta say, if they're gonna do a solo Luke series, it's gotta be done right or else it'll just be a mess 🤦‍♂️. I mean, Luke is an iconic character but he's also got some major daddy issues to work through 🤝. I'm intrigued by the idea of exploring new stories and characters in the Star Wars universe, though - maybe they can introduce a new hero who's actually more relatable than Luke 😐. As for Hamill's jokes about being Darth Vader... yeah, that's just funnier coming from him, dude 😆!

Dude I'm not sure why they're even considering a Luke Skywalker spinoff series 🤔...I mean Mark Hamill is right, if it's just gonna be him in it, it's gonna feel kinda lonely? Plus can you imagine how cringeworthy it'd be to watch Luke make his own solo mistakes as a Jedi Master 😂. It's funny that he's poking fun at himself for looking like Vader all these years tho 🤣, but honestly I think they should just stick with the OG trilogy and leave Luke's story alone 💫

omg u can just imagine how awkward it must've been for hamill lol i mean he's basically saying yeah we should make a solo luke series but idk if it'll work out like that would be kinda weird seeing him in a new light like, what even is this gonna look like?! i feel bad 4 acosta tho he gotta deal w/ the whole vader costume tho 😂 i wish they made that video available 4 everyone we need more hamill behind-the-scenes stories ASAP 🤩

I'm a bit surprised Mark Hamill would be hesitant about a Luke Skywalker spinoff 🤔. I mean, the dude's been playing the character for over 40 years - he knows it inside out! But at the same time, I get what he's saying. The guy has become iconic in the role, and it's hard to imagine anyone else playing him. Maybe they should just make a Luke Skywalker documentary instead? 😉

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this, can you believe Mark Hamill is now poking fun at himself for looking like Darth Vader? 🤣👀 It's just so funny how he dressed up as Obi-Wan Kenobi and acosta totally roasted him online. Like I get it, hamill wanted to have some fun, but still can't help but feel a little bad for the dude.

I mean, on one hand, it's awesome that he's engaging with fans and being light-hearted about it. But at the same time, as much as i love star wars, idk if this spinoff thing is going to happen...i just don't think luke skywalker would work well alone, you feel? 🤔
