Sign up for the First Edition newsletter: our free daily news email

I'm so over these daily newsletters 🙄. Can't we just get our news from actual human sources instead of some automated robot spewing out headlines? I mean, don't get me wrong, The Guardian is a great publication and all, but do we really need to be spoon-fed news every morning like some kinda zombie 🧠. And what's with the "expert team" thingy? Can't they just be honest about who's behind this newsletter? Like, are they even journalists or just some intern trying to adult for the first time?

Signing up for The Guardian's daily newsletter seems like a no-brainer, but what does it really say about our relationship with information? We're willing to pay attention to someone else's curated feed of news because we value being informed... but do we truly trust the sources themselves, or are we just buying into a brand we've come to respect?

I mean, think about it – we're already bombarded with so much info in our daily lives. Do we really need another newsletter to tell us what's going on? Or is this just another way for The Guardian to stay relevant and connected to its readers?

It's almost as if signing up for this newsletter is a ritual, a daily reminder that we're part of a larger community... but are we truly engaging with the information itself, or just checking off a box so we feel like we've done our civic duty?

🤯 I mean, what's wrong with just reading the news online anyway? Do we really need some fancy daily email thingy to wake us up in the morning? 🙄 I get it, convenience is key, but can't we just use our phone or something for once? 😒 And don't even get me started on the ads... like, I know The Guardian's a great org and all, but do they really need to ruin an otherwise solid newsletter with some sponsored content? 🤷‍♀️ Still, I guess it's better than not getting any news at all, so yeah, go ahead sign up or whatever. Just don't expect me to be excited about it 😜
