Sinner in Australian Open quarters; women’s holder Keys booted out

Jannik Sinner has secured a spot in the Australian Open quarterfinals, following Madison Keys' exit at the hands of Jessica Pegula earlier in the day. The 21-year-old Italian player overcame his compatriot Luciano Darderi in three sets to advance to the last eight.

Meanwhile, American tennis players Amanda Anisimova and Jessica Pegula have set up an all-American quarterfinal showdown against each other, following their respective victories over Wang Xinyu and Madison Keys. Their match will be a significant moment for the women's singles tournament at the Australian Open, as it has not been seen in the US since 2001.

American Amanda Anisimova defeated China’s Wang Xinyu with a score of 7-6 (4), 6-4, while Jessica Pegula beat Madison Keys 6-3, 6-4. The all-American quartet includes Coco Gauff and Iva Jovic who advanced to the quarterfinals previously.

Poland's second seed Iga Swiatek has ended the fairytale run of Australian wildcard Maddison Inglis, defeating her 6-0, 6-3 in just one hour and 21 minutes. The Polish player will be facing fifth-seeded Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinals.

Six-time major champion Iga Swiatek is now in a different class than Inglis. She said that she felt pretty confident from the beginning of her match against Inglis. The Polish second seed has won four French Opens, the US Open and Wimbledon but is yet to lift the trophy in Melbourne.

🤔 I'm loving the all-American quarterfinal showdown! It's been ages since we've seen that in the women's singles tournament at the Australian Open 🎾. I think it's gonna be a intense match between Amanda Anisimov and Jessica Pegula... both of them are playing so well right now 💪. Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek just destroyed Maddison Inglis - her confidence is evident in that one hour and 21 minutes win ⏱️. It'll be interesting to see how Elena Rybakina takes on the Polish second seed... she's got a tough opponent ahead of her 🤔

omg I'm loving this all-American matchup between Amanda Anisimova and Jessica Pegula 🇺🇸💪 it's been ages since we've seen a female quarterfinal showdown like this! 🤩 and Iga Swiatek is just on another level, 6-0, 6-3 against Maddison Inglis? 😲 that was super dominant. but you know what's even more impressive? her humility and confidence at the same time 💁‍♀️👏

OMG, I'm loving this Aussie Open so far! 🤩 Those all-American matches are gonna be lit, can't wait to see Anisimova & Pegula go head-to-head 💪🏽! Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek is on fire 🔥, I mean 6-0, 6-3 in just an hour and 21 minutes? That's insane! 🙌 I'm curious to see how she'll take on Rybakina next. And Sinner's win over Darderi was a great comeback story 💪🏽, shows he's got the game for the big stage 👍

🐱😻 I'm so curious about Iga Swiatek's strategy for beating Maddison Inglis 6-0, 6-3 - was she playing a defensive game or going for aggressive shots? 🤔💪 And can anyone predict what will happen in the Anisimova-Pegula match? 🤞 Those all-American girls are gonna give it their all! 💁‍♀️🏸

ugh, this is gonna be a disaster for tennis fans 🙄. an all-American quarterfinals match? how original. like it's never been done before. and now that i think about it, what are the odds of any of these american players actually winning the whole thing? 🤦‍♂️ i mean, we've seen it happen with other countries' teams before... and let's not forget about jessica pegula being on a roll... or is she just getting lucky? 💁‍♀️. and what about the polish player, iga swiatek? seems like she's got this major thing figured out, but we'll see... i'm not holding my breath 🙅‍♂️.

I'm loving this all-American showdown between Amanda Anisimova & Jessica Pegula 🇺🇸💪 It's been ages since we've seen a US vs US quarterfinals at the Aus Open, especially with Coco Gauff and Iva Jovic already in the mix. Let's see if they can bring home some hardware this time around! 😃 The stage is set for some epic battles between these talented ladies. Will Anisimova & Pegula be able to keep up with Swiatek or Rybakina? 🤔

Man, I'm loving how intense this Australian Open is shaping up! 🤯 The tennis world needs more matches like the all-American showdown between Amanda Anisimova and Jessica Pegula, it's been ages since we've seen that kind of excitement from US players on our soil 🇺🇸. I mean, can you imagine how hyped Coco Gauff and Iva Jovic must be watching these young guns take on the best? They're carrying the torch for American tennis and it's so inspiring to see!

And have you seen the stats on Iga Swiatek? This girl is a force to be reckoned with! She's got four French Opens under her belt, and now she's gunning for major wins in Australia. It'll be interesting to see how she matches up against Elena Rybakina – they've had some epic battles before.

I'm also loving the underdog story of Maddison Inglis going down against Iga Swiatek, it was a one-sided match but you could tell she gave it her all! And now that Iga's in the quarterfinals, all eyes are on Melbourne – can we get our first Australian Open title from her? 🤞

OMG u guys 🤯🎾 I'm lovin' how Sinner took it to Luciano Darderi 🙌🏻💪 21 y/o Italian talent on the rise! He's gonna give anyone a run for their money in this quarterfinals. On the flip side, that all-American showdown between Anisimova & Pegula is gonna be EPIC 🤩🇺🇸 Can't wait to see Coco Gauff and Iva Jovic's faces light up again! Meanwhile, Polish powerhouse Iga Swiatek just DOMINATED Inglis 😎💥 Not sure what Elena Rybakina's got in store for her, but Swiatek is ON FIRE 🔥🔴⚡

man i think its gonna be a great quarterfinals day at aussie open 🤩, especially with that all-american showdown between amanda anisimova and jessica pegula... it'll be super intense! 🎾👊 but gotta say, iga swiatek is lookin like a different level player right now 😎, no surprise she took out inglis so easily... her confidence was shining through from the start 👏. and coco gauff's run is still impressive, hopefully she can keep it up 🤞!

🤩 I'm loving this all-American quarterfinal showdown between Amanda Anisimova & Jessica Pegula! It's gonna be a blast from the past, kinda like that iconic scene from Mean Girls 🎬. Anyway, back to tennis - can't wait to see which of these talented American players will take home the win. On another note, Iga Swiatek is looking fierce out there on the court... she's got that whole "Queen Bee" vibe going on, just like Beyoncé 👑. And it's crazy to think about how much potential we're seeing from Coco Gauff and Iva Jovic too! 🌟

I think it's gonna be super intense when Amanda Anisimova and Jessica Pegula face off 🤯! It's been a while since we've seen an all-American showdown like this at the Aussie Open. Fingers crossed for some amazing tennis! 🎾💪

OMG what's going on with these all-American matches 🤯! I've been waiting for this kind of excitement since 2001 😂. Jessica Pegula vs Amanda Anisimova is gonna be epic, fingers crossed for some crazy tennis action 💪! Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek is like a whole different level of player, no wonder she's got four French Open titles 🏆. I'm kinda rooting for Maddison Inglis to make it further though, that's what the Aussies need 😊🎾. Anyway, Sinner's win is awesome, can't wait to see him crush it in the quarterfinals 💥!

😒 Finally, some quality tennis being played at the Australian Open. I mean, who doesn't love a good all-American showdown? It's like the whole country is rallying behind their girls... 30 years too late, maybe? 🙄 Anyway, it's about time someone from the US made some noise in this tournament. Amanda Anisimova and Jessica Pegula are definitely showing they're more than just pretty faces 😏. And let's give it up for Iga Swiatek - she's like a tennis ninja over there 💥, totally dominated that Aussie wildcard Maddison Inglis. Guess you could say she's got the class thing down pat... no pressure or anything. 😉

I'm not buying into all this fuss about tennis 🤔. I mean, what's so exciting about a bunch of people running around hitting a ball back and forth? And don't even get me started on the outfits - those neon colors are giving me a headache 💅🏻. But I guess it's cool that an all-American showdown is happening... but is it really worth all the hype? 🤷‍♀️ And what's up with all these major champions saying they're feeling confident? It sounds like just another scripted interview to me 😒. Anyway, congrats to Jannik Sinner on making it to the quarterfinals - I guess that's a thing now 🎉.

OMG, I'm so over these all-American quarterfinal showdowns 🙄. It's been ages since we've seen one of these in the women's singles tournament at the Australian Open. Like, I get it, it's exciting for American tennis fans and all, but can't we mix things up a bit? 😐

I mean, have you seen Poland's Iga Swiatek play? She's literally in a different league right now 🤯. The girl is on fire! 6-0, 6-3 against Aussie wildcard Maddison Inglis? That was like watching a masterclass. And now she's facing Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinals... I'm not even kidding when I say Swiatek might be a serious contender for the whole thing 🤔.

Ugh, great, another Aussie Open and it's all about the Americans, right? 🤦‍♂️ I mean, can't we have a tournament where someone from outside the States wins for once? But noooo, Anisimova and Pegula are gonna go head-to-head now and we're stuck with an all-American showdown that feels like a relic of the past. It's just gonna be a bunch of tennis bickering on the court and everyone else is just background noise 📺💸

The Australian Open is heating up! 🤩 I'm loving this all-American showdown between Amanda Anisimova and Jessica Pegula - it's been a while since we've seen a battle like that in the women's singles 🎾💪. And let's be real, Sinner's win over Luciano Darderi was no easy feat 😅. But I'm curious, can anyone stop Iga Swiatek? She's looking pretty unstoppable with those four major wins under her belt 💥. And what's up with Maddison Inglis's fairytale run - 6-0 in just an hour and 21 minutes is insane ⏱️!
