Sleeping at Last returns home for a holiday performance with the Chicago Philharmonic

Sleeping at Last Returns Home with Chicago Philharmonic for Holiday Performance

For his first live show in over a decade, multi-instrumentalist Ryan O'Neal is putting aside his nerves and embracing his passion for music. As the leader of the Illinois-based Sleeping at Last, O'Neal will take to the stage alongside the renowned Chicago Philharmonic orchestra for a one-night holiday performance.

The event marks a triumphant return to live performing after a nearly decade-long hiatus. O'Neal credits his perfectionism and nervous nature as reasons he stepped away from touring. However, he's reevaluated that decision and is now excited to share his music with audiences once again.

Sleeping at Last rose to fame in 2011 when its original song "Turning Page" was featured on the soundtrack of the 'Twilight' film "Breaking Dawn – Part 1." The song has since become an RIAA Platinum hit, boasting over 300 million streams on Spotify. O'Neal wrote the song for his wife and drew inspiration from the franchise's love story.

For this special holiday show, Sleeping at Last will perform a selection of original songs and holiday covers. The event promises to be an unforgettable experience with the Chicago Philharmonic's full orchestra. Fans can expect to hear some festive favorites, including "O Holy Night," "O Come, O Come Emmanuel," and O'Neal's own original composition "Snow."

The night will also serve as a showcase for O'Neal's music series, which includes works inspired by astronomical events ("Astronomy"), tiny pieces of music reflecting natural beauty ("Atoms"), and stories of human experience ("Atlas"). Visuals play a significant role in his work, with painter Elicia Edijanto creating watercolor paintings to accompany each song in the "Atlas" project.

As O'Neal prepares for this performance, he reflects on how his life has come full circle. Born and raised in Wheaton, Illinois, O'Neal found solace in music at a young age and went on to create music that would resonate with audiences worldwide. With Sleeping at Last's return to live performing, fans can expect an unforgettable night of music, emotion, and connection.
