'Small mercies': north London cafe evictions paused after legal challenge

omg just when you think the city's gonna lose all its charm 🤕 these cafe owners have been fighting so hard for what feels right and it's amazing to see the community come together 🙌 22k signatures on that petition? that's crazy! and to know that Benc and James are backing them too is just the icing on the cake 🎂 lets hope they can keep those cafes open and preserve that London magic 💚

🤝 So I think this is great news for the cafe owners and the community! It's crazy how big corporations can just come in and try to take over local businesses like that 🚫. The fact that the city corporation was trying to make money from the cafes by auctioning them off is really questionable, imo.

It's awesome that the public has rallied behind Patrick and Emma – I mean, 22k signatures on a petition? That's amazing! 💖 And it's even more impressive that high-profile celebs like Benedict and James are backing their cause 🙌.

Now, I'm not sure what the future holds for the cafes, but this reprieve gives them some much-needed time to figure out next steps. Let's hope they can come up with a solution that works for everyone involved 🤞. Maybe we'll see more local businesses thriving in London? 🍴

I'm so glad this news broke 🙌! Those cafe owners were literally fighting for their livelihoods here, and it's insane that they had to go through all that drama in the first place 😩. I mean, what's not to love about a community coming together to support a small business? The fact that over 22k people signed that petition just goes to show how much people care about these local gems 💚. And can we talk about how awesome it is that Benedict Cumberbatch and James McAvoy are using their platforms to help out 🙏? That's the kind of solidarity we need more of in this world 👍. Now, let's keep our fingers crossed for those cafe owners and hope they can get through this without any more setbacks 💪!

Ugh, what's next? First, they're gonna kick out our favorite coffee shops so some faceless corporate chain can swoop in and ruin the vibe of our city... 🤯 I mean, seriously though, can't we just have a nice, relaxed spot to hang out without having to worry about being priced out or forced out by bureaucrats? And what's with all these 'community cafes' that are supposed to be good for us but really just end up serving overpriced avocado toast... 🥑 Give me a break!
