Ugh, I'm seriously worried about the state of football these days

. I mean, Léo Scienza's story is inspiring and all, but this 'bloodbath' thing he's saying? That's just a code for "I'm tired of being run ragged on the pitch"

. And £8 million for him to join Southampton? That's just crazy

But what really gets me is how he talks about finding solace in football when life gets tough

. Don't get me wrong, I love a good underdog story as much as the next guy, but it feels like there's some level of detachment here. Like, yeah, Scienza's had a rough time, but doesn't that mean we should be doing more to support him off the pitch?
I'm not trying to be too negative about this, though – Scienza's clearly got talent and drive, and I hope he crushes it on the pitch (pun intended

). It's just...can't we all just get a little bit of that 'human spirit' to help us deal with the tough stuff?
