Philly's Favorite Musicians Shifted in 2025: A Look at Spotify Wrapped.

As the annual tradition returns, music fans across Philadelphia are eager to see how their favorite artists performed on the charts. This year, Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter topped the city's most streamed list, but Drake took the crown with more streams than anyone else.

Swift, a native of Berks County, was the top artist in the US and second globally, behind Bad Bunny. Her latest album, "The Life of A Showgirl," snagged eighth spot on the country chart and fourth globally among Philly users. Carpenter, who hails from Bucks County, saw her 2024 release "Short n' Sweet" become the sixth most popular in the country and fourth worldwide.

Morgan Wallen jumped into third place, while Zach Bryan and Ye slipped out of the top five. Drake's dominance comes as no surprise, given his consistent presence on music streaming platforms.

Looking closer at Philly's Spotify Wrapped data, it appears that overall listening habits haven't changed much from last year. The most popular artists in the city flipped between Swift and Drake in 2024, but Wallen took over this year.

To get a glimpse into your own listening habits, Spotify users can access their Wrapped data through the mobile app. This year's version includes an interactive feature called "Wrapped Party," where users try to uncover patterns and outliers among their friends' playlists.
 
I'm kinda surprised that Drake took the top spot in Philly this year 🤔. I mean, he's always been a consistent presence on music streaming platforms, but I thought for sure Taylor Swift would still reign supreme. Maybe it's because she's from the States and just released an album that really resonated with listeners here? On the other hand, Drake's been building up this incredible fanbase over the years, so it's not like he came out of nowhere.

I do think it's interesting that Morgan Wallen jumped into third place though 🤷‍♂️. He's got a super dedicated fanbase and his music just seems to stick with people. And I love how Spotify's Wrapped data always gives us a glimpse into what's really popular in the city - even if some artists might be surprised by the results.

For me, one of the coolest features this year is the "Wrapped Party" thing 🎉. It's like you get to peek behind the curtain and see how your friends' listening habits compare to yours. I'm super curious to dive into that and see who else is on my top charts!
 
"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." 🌟 I'm loving how Philly's music scene is still alive and kicking, but it's interesting to see that Drake's streams took over from last year. It just goes to show that even with a strong presence, artists can still have their moments and adjust to changes in listeners' preferences. Maybe Taylor Swift was holding back for something new? 🤔
 
Spotify Wrapped is getting old, if you ask me 🤔. I mean, it's cool that they're still bringing out this annual thing, but how much more can we really get from these reports? And don't even get me started on how they always find a way to make it more clickbait-y... I mean, what's up with the "Wrapped Party" feature? Just another excuse to scroll through your friends' playlists and see who's still listening to that weird stuff you used to like 😂. Can we just have a real discussion about music without all the fanfare and charts and stuff?

But hey, at least Spotify Wrapped is back and I get to scroll through my friends' playlists and find out who's been secretly jamming to the same Billie Eilish tracks as me 😉
 
I'm totally sold on Taylor Swift being overrated 🙄... I mean, she's still my fave! But seriously, have you seen the top streamers? It's all Drake, all the time... 🤯 yet, at the same time, I think it's kinda cool how Spotify Wrapped is all about showing off your personal taste. Like, who doesn't want to know what their BFFs are listening to? But, on the other hand, maybe we should be worried that our playlists are getting way too predictable... 😒.
 
ugh its like every single year is gonna be about drake lol how did he get so popular?? 🤯 i still love taylor swifts music but come on drake has been raking in the streams for years now its a bit sus that every 1st place winner always ends up being him what about the rest of us who got sick of his repetitive flow by now? 😒
 
idk about these charts ppl always changing artists but same songs playin everywhere 🤷‍♂️ still lovin taylor swift tho she's the real deal, been listenin to her since I was a kid. think it's cool how morgan wallen jumped into third place, that guy's got some great country vibes. but like, have u seen the playlist of drake? it's all the same old songs over and over 🎶🔁

DID YOU KNOW THAT ZACH BRYAN AND YE SLIPPED OUT OF THE TOP FIVE? BUT SERIOUSLY, I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO A LOT OF INDIE MUSIC ON SPOTIFY RECENTLY, SO IT'S COOL TO SEE HOW PHILLY USERS' TASTES HAVE SHIFTED OVER TIME. AND THE WRAPED PARTY FEATURE SOUNDS LIKE SO MUCH FUN!

Like, who cares? She's still a superstar and her music is loved by millions 💖. And let's be real, Drake has been raking it in for so long now he basically owns the game 🤑. But what about his lyrics that are kinda questionable? Shouldn't we be holding artists to a higher standard when it comes to their words? 🤔 Not saying Swift is perfect or anything, but maybe we should just appreciate her music for what it is and not get so hung up on her personal life 👀.
