Sterling's time at Chelsea was not fruitful but he still has time to revive career

Raheem Sterling's spell at Chelsea has ended in heartbreak, with his £325,000-a-week contract finally coming to an end by mutual consent. The once-vaunted winger's time at the London club was a far cry from his Manchester City days, where he was hailed as a marquee signing and won four Premier League titles.

Sterling's move to Chelsea was touted as a return to London for one of the city's most successful players in recent years, with Thomas Tuchel eager to harness his threat in the final third. However, things soon soured under new manager Graham Potter, who tried the player out as a wing-back to little avail.

As the season wore on, whispers grew that Chelsea were willing to sell Sterling, but he struggled to find form and fitness after Potter's departure. Despite a brief resurgence under Mauricio Pochettino in July 2023, it was not sustainable, and the Argentine manager soon lost patience with the player.

Sterling's future has been shrouded in uncertainty for some time now, with interest from Fulham and West Ham failing to materialize. Napoli's sporting director Giovanni Manna summed up the situation perfectly when stating that Sterling "has significant financial expectations" but is not currently seen as a good fit for their team at this time.

Despite Chelsea's financial gain from his departure, it's clear that the club's approach was questionable. Keeping Sterling in the squad and using him as a rotation option could have maintained his value, rather than leaving him to train on his own. This has left plenty of people wondering if Chelsea could have done more to salvage Sterling's career.

Off the pitch, there are concerns for Sterling's family life. The player has dealt with two burglaries at his home since joining Chelsea and has a young son, Thiago, who is currently in Arsenal's academy.

Ultimately, Sterling's future remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: he needs to find a new chapter in his career that brings him success and happiness. For a player who was once hailed as a hero on the pitch, it's time for him to rediscover his spark and prove all doubters wrong.

I'm sad to see Sterling's spell at Chelsea end like this 🤕. He's always been an amazing player, but I think they messed up by not giving him enough playing time. Keeping him on the bench, training alone... it's just not right for someone of his talent 💔. And now he's got a young son to worry about too 😕. Hopefully he finds a new team that values him and gives him the chance to shine again ⚽️.

Sterling's spell at Chelsea was always going to be a tricky one 🤔...I mean, you've got this talented player coming into a club with massive expectations, and things just didn't click. I think the big question is what went through Potter's mind when he tried Sterling out as a wing-back - it just doesn't feel like his game 🏃‍♂️. And yeah, Chelsea's approach to managing him was all over the shop...keeping him in the squad but barely playing him? That's not going to bring out the best in someone 💡. It's also got me thinking about how tough life must be for Sterling off the pitch - dealing with burglaries and juggling family life while trying to stay relevant in the game 📈. He needs a fresh start, ASAP 🚀...any team that can offer him regular playing time and a chance to rediscover his spark would be crazy lucky to sign him 👍

man... can't believe Raheem Sterling's spell at Chelsea ended like this 🤕 £325k/week is crazy, but not just that, he was basically written off by Potter and Pochettino 📝 it's like the club didn't know how to handle him, you feel? they kept him on the bench and out of form... what a waste 😔

and poor Thiago, his son's future is looking uncertain too 🤞 being in Arsenal's academy but not getting the chance to play... I hope Raheem can find a new team where he can be the main man again 💪

🤕 honestly its a shame what happened to raheem sterling at chelsea he had such potential but the way they handled him was super dodgy especially with the whole training alone thing 🙅‍♂️ i mean who does that to someone? and now hes struggling with his fam life too 😔 thiago is only little dude, how can that be tough on him tho? anyway, sterling needs a new start ASAP 💥 he cant keep getting benched and then losing form its time for him to get back to what made him famous in the first place ⚽

Man I feel so bad for Raheem Sterling 🤕, he was supposed to be this game-changer at Chelsea but it just didn't work out. I think they should've kept him around more, you know? He's still a top player in my eyes and I'm sure there are other teams that would love to have him on their squad. His personal life is taking a hit too with all the burglaries at his house 🚪, hope everything works out for him and his family soon.

I'm so disappointed in Chelsea's handling of Raheem Sterling 🤕. I mean, the bloke was playing for them with an injury last season! He couldn't even get regular starters at Fulham or West Ham, but they just let him sit on the bench and collect a paycheck? That's not being fair to the lad 🤑. And what's going on with his family life, anyway? Two burglaries in two years?! 🤯 That's some serious stress for him and his little one Thiago. He needs to find a club that'll give him a chance to shine and take care of those he cares about 💪. Can't blame the guy for wanting a fresh start after all he's been through...

OMG what happened at Chelsea ?? 😱 I mean Sterling was like a superstar there but he just didnt seem to click with Potter 🤷‍♂️ and now hes just sitting around waiting for someone to offer him a deal 🤑 its sad cuz he used to be so good on the pitch 💥 but now hes struggling to find his form again 🤔 I feel bad for him and his family too 😔 theyre dealing with burglaries at their home and his kid is in some academy 🏦👧🎓 poor guy needs a fresh start ASAP ⏱️

I feel bad for Raheem Sterling, you know? He got a raw deal at Chelsea 🤕. I mean, £325k/week is insane, but if they weren't gonna play him, then just sell him already ⏰! Instead of training alone on the side, I think they shoulda just gotten rid of him earlier and saved everyone the drama. And poor Thiago, living with dad's drama in London... 🤯 at least he got into Arsenal's academy tho 😊

man this is so sad for sterling 🤕 he was like the golden boy at chelsea but things just didn't work out for him, i think chelsea were really harsh on him 🙅‍♂️ they had a good run with him when tuchel was in charge but then potter came in and it was all downhill from there, what did they even see in him as a wingback tho? 🤔 he's still got so much talent but i guess chelsea didn't want to pay the price for it. anyway, his career needs a serious reboot now 💥

🤔 I think Chelsea could've done more with Sterling, they shoulda played him more often instead of lettin' him sit around trainin' on his own... 🏃‍♂️ that just wouldn't do for a player of his caliber. 💼 also, I feel bad for his family life, burglaries happen but it's not exactly the kind of thing you wanna deal with, especially when you got a young kid at home 🤕 and now he's strugglin' to find a new club... 😔

🤔 I feel bad for Raheem Sterling, he had such high hopes when he joined Chelsea but it just didn't work out... £325k/week is crazy, you'd think that would guarantee success 🤑 but apparently not. He's been through so much off the pitch too, 2 burglaries at his home? that's really worrying 😟 and I can see why he needs to get out of London with his young son going to Arsenal's academy... maybe a move abroad could be good for him? 🌎

I'm so sad to see Raheem Sterling's spell at Chelsea end like this 🤕. I think he got a bad deal from the club, you know? They had him as one of their own stars and just kinda... stopped believing in him 💔. Keeping him on the bench all season and not giving him a proper role is pretty harsh, if you ask me.

And poor guy's family life has been a mess too 😕. Two burglaries at his house? That can't be easy for him or his son Thiago to deal with. I just hope he finds a new club that will appreciate him and give him the chance to shine 💫. He needs to find a new chapter in his career where he can be happy and successful again 🙏.

Chelsea could've done more to help Sterling, imo 👎. They had the chance to make it work but didn't. Now he's gotta start from scratch and prove himself all over again 🤦‍♂️. Wishing him all the best for his next move 💕

Omg 🤯 I feel so bad for Raheem Sterling! He had such high hopes when he joined Chelsea but it didn't work out 🤦‍♂️. 325k a week is a huge amount and I think the club should've kept him in the squad instead of letting him train alone 🚫. What if he just needed a bit more time to adjust?

I also feel bad for his family, two burglaries at their house? 😱 that's so harsh 💔. Thiago's at Arsenal academy now and I hope Raheem can find a way to balance work and family life 🙏.

Sterling needs a fresh start ASAP ⚡️. He was once an amazing player but it seems like he's lost his spark 🔥. I want him to prove all the doubters wrong and show them what he's capable of again 💪. He deserves it after everything he's been through 🙌

🤔 I feel bad for Raheem Sterling, he had such high hopes when he joined Chelsea but it just didn't work out... like, what happened with Potter? 🤷‍♂️ did the club really think using him as a wing-back was gonna be a good move? 😂 and poor guy's been dealing with burglaries at his home too... gotta feel for him and his family life. I mean, you can't win on the pitch if you're stressed off it, right? 🏠💔 he needs to find a new team that believes in him again, maybe somewhere that gives him more freedom to play. West Ham or Fulham could be a good option? 🤞

I feel bad for Raheem Sterling 😔, the guy just hasn't had the best run at Chelsea. I think they messed up by not using him more in his natural position as a winger. He was great with City, won loads of titles, so what changed? 🤔 And now he's struggling to find form and fitness everywhere else... it's like he's lost that confidence. Poor guy, needs to find a new team where he can shine again 💪

can you believe chelsea just let sterling walk for 325k a week? i mean, they had plenty of chances to make it work but potter's tactics were so confusing. and now sterling's family is struggling too... like, what did they see in Napoli that fulham & west ham didn't? he deserves better, fam

🤔 I gotta say, Chelsea's handling of Raheem Sterling just doesn't add up... like, they basically threw away £325k/week 💸 just because he wasn't fitting into their system? That's a huge waste, especially when you consider the impact his presence would've had on the team. And it's not just about the money, it's about how they treated him - training alone? 🤕 that's just low. Poor guy needs a fresh start ASAP! 💨

I feel so bad for Raheem Sterling 🤕... I mean, he went from being like, this superstar at City, winning all these titles, and then gets dropped by Chelsea 😔... I can imagine how frustrating that must be for him, especially with his son Thiago trying to follow in his footsteps at Arsenal ⚽️. And two burglaries at his house? That's some scary stuff 🤯... I hope he finds a new team soon where he'll be appreciated and get to enjoy himself on the pitch 😊. Maybe Fulham or West Ham could be a good fit for him? 🤔
