“Taxi Driver” turns 50 and more: The biggest pop culture anniversaries to look forward to in 2026

Ugh, another decade gone by and it's all about nostalgia now 🤯. I mean, "Westworld" turning 10 is just a reminder that the show was kinda overhyped from the start... and don't even get me started on "The Departed" being old news 😒. But hey, at least we can all agree that Ava DuVernay's "13th" documentary is still super relevant today 🤝. I'm just glad I won't have to sit through another decade of people thinking they're experts on social justice because of a 10-year-old documentary 👎

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s crazy how some movies are turning 20, 10 or even 30 years old. Like, have you seen all the "Westworld" episodes yet? I've been binge-watching them and it's like looking into a mirror sometimes 🤯. And what's up with all the James Brown tributes this month? He was such an iconic singer-songwriter but his life story is kinda dark, you know? Anyway, I think we should celebrate his legacy in some way, even if it's just by listening to some of his best songs on repeat 🎵.

🤔 the data's in, and it's a mixed bag. looking at these anniversaries and birthdays... okay so october is gonna be all about martin scorsese movies 🎥 - the departed just turned 20 and westworld's hitting decade two on oct 2 💻. while december's got some heavy stuff - james brown's still iconic after 20 years gone 🕺, and rogue one is turning 10 🚀

as for pop culture, mulholland drive is back in the spotlight with its 25th anniversary 🎬, which means some old-school fans are gonna geek out big time. on a more somber note, it's also carrie's birthday - that book character is still making waves after 100 years 👧

oh, and have you seen any of the recent games releases? twister just turned 60 🎮...

OMG, can u believe it's been 10 yrs since Westworld premiered? 😲 I mean, I was hooked from the start! 🤖 It's crazy how fast time flies. And speaking of old favorites, I'm low-key excited for the 20th anniversary of Oklahoma lifting its tattoo ban 🌴. It's awesome that they finally joined the rest of the country in embracing body art 💅🏼. What's your take on it? Should we be celebrating more of these milestones or focusing on new things? 🤔

omg, can u believe it's been 10 years since Ava DuVernay dropped "13th" 🤯 that documentary is so relevant to us students fighting for social justice in school 🏫💪 we need more voices like hers speaking out about systemic racism and inequality. let's hope our school administration takes note and starts making changes soon 💼👀

Ugh, a bunch of old movies and TV shows turning up. Like who even remembers what's coming out next week? 🙄 Anyway, it's cool that "Westworld" is getting a shoutout - I mean, who wouldn't want to binge-watch some androids running around for 10 whole years? 😂 On a more serious note, I'm kinda bummed that Oklahoma finally legalized tattoos. Like, what took 'em so long?! 🤷‍♀️ 20 years is forever in internet time
