Team Europe skipper Jayson Shaw vows to 'crush' USA at Mosconi Cup: Schedule, scores, teams, format at Alexandra Palace

European nine-ball pool team captain Jayson Shaw has vowed to "crush" Team USA at the Mosconi Cup, which is being held at Alexandra Palace from December 3-6. Shaw says that Team Europe are in London to "win" the tournament and claims that the USA are there only to "get paid". This is not the first time that Shaw has been confident about his team's chances of victory, as he stated last year that they were going to "crush" their American counterparts.

Shaw returns as captain of Team Europe for the 2025 Mosconi Cup, which will feature the best nine-ball players from Europe and the USA. The Europeans are looking to extend their dominance in the transatlantic battle, having won 15 out of the last 18 Mosconi Cup ties since 2007.

The American team, led by captain Skyler Woodward, also includes World No 1 Fedor Gorst and five-time US Open champion Shane Van Boening. The event will be a four-day long battle for supremacy, with each side competing in singles, doubles and team matches.

In the past, Team Europe has had a significant edge over their American counterparts, winning 17 of the last 18 Mosconi Cup titles since 2007. This year's match is expected to be even more intense as both teams are looking to reclaim the coveted trophy.

The Mosconi Cup is similar to golf's Ryder Cup in that it brings together the best players from Europe and the USA to compete against each other. The event began in 1994 at the Roller Bowl in Romford and has been held annually since then.

The format of the tournament sees each side with five players, competing in singles, doubles and team matches across four days. Three players automatically qualify for their teams through the Race to the Mosconi Cup standings, calculated on their performances on the World Nineball Tour throughout the year. The other two places are filled by wildcard picks by the respective captains.

The $300,000 event will begin with the teams' opener on Wednesday night and conclude with singles matches on the final day. A captain's pick will determine the final match should it be a 10-10 tie. All matches will be race-to-five racks, alternate break, and played in accordance with the World Nineball Tour rules.

The prize fund for this year's tournament is $300,000, with the winning team receiving $40,000 per player. The event will be broadcast live on Sky Sports from 6.30pm on Wednesday, December 3, and can also be streamed with NOW and the Sky Sports app.

πŸ†πŸ’₯ Team Europe is gonna CRUSH it this year! 🀯 Jayson Shaw's right on point about the USA being there to get paid lol πŸ€‘ They've been dominating for years and I gotta agree, those American players are so underrated πŸ”΄ Fedor Gorst is a beast, but I think Jayson's squad has what it takes to take down the US in 2025 πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸŽ‰ The European team's got some serious firepower with Shane Van Boening on board 🀯 Can't wait for the competition to start! #MosconiCup2025 #TeamEurope #JaysonShaw #NineBallPool

I'm low-key hyped for this one 🀩. Team Europe's dominance is legit, and Jayson Shaw as captain is gonna be a force to be reckoned with πŸ’ͺ. I mean, 15 out of 18 wins since 2007 is no joke πŸ™. The American team has some big names like Fedor Gorst and Shane Van Boening, but they're still gotta step up their game if they wanna take down Team Europe πŸ€”. I'm not gonna lie, though - I'm a bit worried about Team USA's chances 😬. Still, it's gonna be an epic battle to watch, and whoever comes out on top is gonna be well-deserved πŸ’₯.

So Shaw thinks Team USA are just there for the paycheck lol πŸ€‘πŸŽ―. I mean, it's not like they're gonna get paid regardless if they win or lose! πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ The Europeans have been on a roll since 2007 and it's hard to see them losing this year. They've won 15 out of 18 ties in that time period, that's some serious dominance! βš”οΈ

But Team USA has got some heavy hitters like Fedor Gorst and Shane Van Boening, so we can't count them out just yet 🀯. The prize fund is pretty sweet too, $40k per player for the winning team? πŸ’Έ That's what I'm talking about! πŸ€‘

πŸŽ‰ Oh man, this Mosconi Cup is gonna be lit! I'm hyped to see Team Europe bring their A-game against Team USA again. Jayson Shaw's confidence is totally justified - they've been dominating these guys for years. It's not just about winning or losing, it's about the bragging rights and the prestige that comes with being the best of the best. The fact that the US team is already looking at this as a paycheck kind of takes the edge off, you know? πŸ€‘ I'm rooting for Jayson and Team Europe to crush it (pun intended) and take home that $40k prize money! πŸ’Έ

omg u guys its gonna be a clash of the titans!!! Jayson Shaw is LIVID that Team USA are just there for the $$$ lol but seriously dont think its gonna be an easy ride for Team Europe we all know how competitive Fedor Gorst is he's been on fire this year and Shane Van Boening is looking strong too Skyler Woodward is a great captain but i still gotta root for Shaw and his team theyve had some epic battles with the Yanks in the past and ill be keeping my fingers crossed for them 🀞πŸ’₯

🀩 think shaw's gonna get what's coming to him lol his team europe's been on fire for ages 🎯 they've won like 17 out of 18 mosconi cups since 2007, that's crazy 🀯 but usa's got some big guns too - fedor gorst and shane van boening are gonna put up a good fight πŸ₯Š guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens πŸ’

OMG 🀯 I'm so excited for this year's Mosconi Cup! Team Europe is looking super strong with Jayson Shaw at the helm 😎. Like, I've been following his career for years and he's always got that fire in his belly to take down the Yanks πŸ†. And let's be real, they're not even close in terms of the overall skill level - 15 out of 18 wins is insane! πŸ’₯

I'm a bit nervous about Team USA though 😬. They've got some heavy hitters like Fedor Gorst and Shane Van Boening, but I think their strategy will be to just try and get as many points as possible through team matches rather than focusing on individual skills πŸ€”. Am I right? 😁

πŸ€” Just wondering why Team USA always gets painted as the underdog πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ in these Mosconi Cup matches? I mean, they've got some top-notch players like Fedor Gorst and Shane Van Boening πŸ™Œ. Can't wait to see how this year's match plays out! πŸ†

Also, Jayson Shaw's confidence is admirable, but can he back it up with results? πŸ’ͺ We'll have to see if Team Europe's dominance continues or if Team USA brings the heat πŸ”₯!

Ugh, I'm so over how long these tournaments take 🀯. Four days of back-to-back matches is insane! Can't they just have a best-of-three match instead? And what's up with the format? It feels like they're trying to make it as complicated as possible... Three players automatically qualify through the Race to the Mosconi Cup standings, but why do we need to know that in advance? πŸ™„ It just adds unnecessary stress for fans who are already invested in the teams. And have you seen the prize fund? $40,000 per player is nothing compared to what some of these pros make from sponsorships alone πŸ’Έ

I've been following this Mosconi Cup for years and I gotta say, Team Europe is on fire πŸ”₯! Jayson Shaw's confidence is well-deserved, they've got a solid team and a proven track record of success. The US team looks good too though, with Fedor Gorst and Shane Van Boening leading the charge πŸ€”. This one's gonna be a nail-biter, but I'm rooting for Team Europe to keep their dominance going πŸ†.

Shaw thinks he's got it in for the Yanks this time, huh? 😏 Always talking trash before a match never hurt anyone. The USA has some solid players too, don't count them out just yet. It'll be an interesting battle between old-school and new-school tactics, could go either way.

πŸ€” I'm thinking Team Europe has got this one in the bag πŸŽ‰... they've been on a roll for years now & Shaw's confidence is kinda rubbing off on the other players πŸ˜…. Plus, USA's team looks pretty stacked but if anyone can take them down, it's gotta be Jayson Shaw πŸ’ͺ... he's the real deal! πŸ”₯

πŸ”₯ I think Jayson Shaw's confidence in Team Europe is kinda funny considering how long they've been dominating the Mosconi Cup 🀣 They're not just talking about crushing the USA, it's actually happened multiple times already! I'm a bit skeptical that the US team doesn't know what to expect though πŸ˜’

I'm kinda curious about how this year's Mosconi Cup is gonna go down πŸ€”. I mean Jayson Shaw is looking confident but you never know what can happen in a competition like this πŸ’₯. The US team has some serious firepower with Fedor Gorst and Shane Van Boening, so it's not all gonna be Europe's game 😊. And let's be real, the Mosconi Cup is always super intense - I love watching it! πŸŽ‰ It's going to be a four-day battle for supremacy, which should make for some thrilling matches 🀯. Can't wait to see how it all plays out πŸ“Ί!
